Beautiful place, beautiful surroundings, all round beautiful! I'd love to go again, a definite place to stay and very close to Loch Ness and the Dores Inn. When I visited some years ago the place had just opened so would love to see what it is like now.

A completely redone country house. Much care was taken in furnishings and providing the most comfort for their guests. The rooms were very generous in size with a deck to sit and view the lake.
The hosts were fabulous and enjoyable.
The breakfast was served in an open air space with a view
The menu selections were very good and the food excellent!
We and our friends had a most enjoyable stay.

Myself, my husband and 2 month old baby stayed one night in this beautiful guest house in June last year. (I was going to post a review sooner but life gets busy!)  We were warmly welcomed by Lee, the owner and given the grand tour of the house.  Lee explained him and his wife bought the house a couple of years ago and have been restoring it.  Carol is an incredibly gifted artist and has been restoring a lot of the original art deco artwork painted on the walls throughout the house.
We were shown to our room, a tastefully decorated room  with a large comfy bed with windows looking out over a large garden.  Our bathroom was down the hall with a MASSIVE claw foot bath!  The large fluffy towels and bathrobes were a bonus.
Like the other reviews pointed out, the guest house is self-catering and that sorted us fine.  There's a TESCO just down the road and after every place we had stayed at offering a fry up, it was nice to have a breakfast of cereal and toast!  The cutlery and crockery was provided and I think I remember tea and coffee being avalible.
This guest house was the only place on our 5 week holiday were we given access to a laundry and with having a 2 month old, we accumulate a lot of washing.  It was nice not to have to handwash in a bathroom sink for a night!
This guest house was exactly the type of accomodation we wanted to stay in on our hoilday, beautiful, unique accomodation but we didn't find another place similar to this in the whole of Britian.  We recommend this guest house to anyone we know travelling to Inverness and we will definetly be back one day!

I stayed here in May and absolutely loved it.  My room was magnificent - indeed the whole house is a wonderful timepiece.    

Breakfast is DIY which as an independent traveller suits me down to the ground, and although the guest kitchen is small it has everything that you might need. A sort of youth hostel par excellence for the discerning guest.  Not all of the rooms are en-suite but the bathrooms are also beautiful period pieces.  If Premier Inn is your bag - don't stay here.  

The grounds and wooded walks are being renovated still, but even as they are have some truly amazing rhododendrums and trees. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming, while affording as much privacy as one wants. I can't wait to return.

The best place we stayed in Scotland!

We stayed here ( 10 of us) from 27th to 29th June 2013. Nobody met us on arrival to guide us through the house and  explain various facilities .The key to the house was left under a flower pot outside the main tour . The electric stove and dryer did not work and the laundry room leaked and there were not enough towels for the 10 of us. The website says coffee/tea are provided but we had to get it from Tesco.  After we complained to the owner Karen Bolt she sent a workman the following day  to repair the stove and the dryer but he couldn't fix the WiFi which never worked during our stay.

 The house desperately needs refurbishing and until that his done Karla shouldn't be renting this house . We checked out a day earlier and went to a fabulous cottage on the grounds of Aldourie castle.
