Hotel 4 Penguins

In reflection to other feedback this hotel is a little out of the way and poorly signposted. It has its own bar, restaurant and craft shop - all of which were very impressive! Breakfast was lovely and prompt - though serving filter coffee would be an added benefit. I had mine served to me on my balcony overlooking the lake. The directions aren't complicated in getting there, nor the roads as bad as mentioned in some feedback (if you're adjusted to Ugandan dirt roads) but it is very poorly signposted, but see map iv attached - head for the red marker to reach the 3 way junction described below. So Come off the main road at the 4 penguins signpost, and take the signposted right turn after about 100/200m, You basically then just need to follow signs for bananna village abdominal sky beach hotel until it converges into a three road unmarked junction - I took the middle path and drove around the back (keep going till you reach the end of the road and come upon the second yellow building), but I think you should take the right hand path. The hotel has what looks like Christmas lights in the windows! Alicia, the receptionist, was exceptional - probably the best customer service iv had in Uganda, nothing was a problem for her! From mobile money transfer, air time, boda, to finding me a seamstress and collecting for me before I returned! Derek who served me breakfast on my balcony was equally helpful and friendly! The price is reasonable for what you get, with the bonus of a lake view! Though development here is picking up, with large buildings springing up within the view but not necessarily blocking it. If you are looking for a chance to relax this is the place, but you will need a boda to get around. I was only staying one night before getting the boat to banda Island - boda Kasenyi landing site 7000sh organised by Alicia who was also kind enough to store my bag before I returned 2 days later. 2000sh for a boda to the hotel from the main road.
