Verdi Tunis Beach Resort

This is a great hotel not too far from the Tunis airport/Tunis city center/Carthage historical site.When I first was looking at the listing for this hotel, I was skeptical as I thought it just couldn't be like the pictures.I was wrong. The hotel is about an easy 20 minute drive from the Tunis airport in a very good area. I personally didn't see much in the area around the hotel except for other hotels and a nightclub across the street, but there is a good mall and grocery store just down the street so that was very nice.Getting to Tunis center and the Carthage Historical Sites are very easy as well, with about a 15 minute drive to each.In the hotel, there is a very nice pool which was beautiful, a couple of shops, a couple of restaurants and a great path with access to the beach.I ordered room service the first night there and the food was good with no problems at all. Also, trying to get pool towels and extra shower towels from the reception desk was super easy with zero problems.Speaking of the front desk, as the Tunisian dinar is a closed currency and landing at Tunis airport so early in the morning, I hadn't had a chance to convert my USD to local currency but I was able to do it at the front desk, which gave me a rate that was very, very close to market value, which was a very welcome surprise.
