O Forte Guest House

We have spent one night in this guest house in our little tour over Portugal. If you have booked please note the check in is at 14 (earlier might not be possible as the 2 ladies running the place were doing cleaning after the previous guests). Also do not forget to look into the confirmation message from Booking as it contains the main door code. The hosts will leave the keys and information downstairs but will not necessarily be in. The guesthouse is an old building near the Fort, with a very modern nice big kitchen and 2 bathrooms, and vintage furniture and decorations in the living areas. As we understood the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom are shared, while the guests are also given keys from their own bedroom. No breakfast is served or prepared, but you can have everything from the fridge - joghurt, cheese, ham, milk, etc - as well as fresh bread, tea and cookies. The main beach is in 20 min walk, everywhere around there are good restaurants. The hosts were really friendly and ready to help, it was perfectly clean everywhere. Kitchen has all appliances you might need - a toaster, a coffee machine (though we have found no filters), a kettle, pans if you like to cook, cutlery, plates, cups, glasses, a cooking panel, an oven, and a dishwasher. Together with sitting in the living room or staying in your bedroom in all that vintage brown furniture (plus a nice sound system and a bog tv screen) gives you a special experience you do not typically get in hotels or guesthouses. A super nice place to stay in Peniche for a few days - totally recommended.
