Hostal La Casa del Tekolote

La Casa del Tekolote is a B&B-style hotel. The reception is at the Restaurant under the same name, and the rooms are ~5 min walking away, at what I guess is a private house. I was told that my room was the largest, it was on the first floor and was probably a part of a private apartment before. The room was spacious and the bed (one of the two in the room) was comfortable enough. I only had issues with wifi access (the staff gave me a wrong key) and hot water (I was not patient to allow several minutes before it got hot). The interior was simple and clean. The hotel is in a very nice, quiet neighbourhood (Coyoacan) and is about 20 min walking from the nearest metro station (also Coyoacan). A cozy quarter with a market, park, lots of cafes and bars is ~ 15 min walking to the south, opposite direction to the Coyoacan metro. It's a pity I didn't have much time to walk there. It's perhaps a better option than Plaza Garibaldi or other popular spots for your dinner. Last but not least, la Casa del Tekolote is a good option in terms of room rate! They offer one free daily meal, though the restaurant only opens at 10 or 11am and is closed on Monday.
