Athena Palace Hotel

Great place for family and romantic holiday, especially for those who don't like overcrowded places. Even though most of the staff do not speak English, mutual effort in communication is quite successful. The staff are so friendly and nice that spending your holiday there feels like home. We didn't want to leave :) We had a nice room with a balcony and great view on the sea. We could also spend romantic evenings by the nicely lit swimming pool during our honeymoon. A thing worth knowing is that washing service at the hotel can be quite expensive as it is done by hand. Regarding this small town itself, you need to be prepared to have a car if you want to do any sightseeing. Doing it on foot is almost impossible due to lack of footpaths by the quite busy road. As far as it concerns food, at the hotel you get a typically Italian breakfast in the form of a cold buffet with more variety of sweet than savoury staff to choose from. Very tasty though - especially custard filled croissants (at least for those with a sweet tooth :) For dinner we can recommend Crazy Beach bar, where you can ask the chef to prepare a great variety of fish and vegetarian dishes (about 5 minute walk from the hotel and the owners can speak good English) and the pizzeria with a proper pizza furnice just down the hill (about 3 minute walk). All in all, my husband and I can definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely choose it again. Thank you Athena Palace Hotel for a lovely stay :)
