WatersEdge Hotel

The WatersEdge is a very small hotel in Cobh and is situated on the waterfront. It’s a three minute walk to the train station. There are a ton of pubs, restaurants and the Cobh Prom is all right there. Our room had views of the harbor and Spike Island, and the town. There is a in-house restaurant, called Jacobs Ladder which is very good. The restaurant also serves as the breakfast room in the morning. I have been told, by locals to Cobh, that when the cruise ships are in, they obstruct the view, and it can be extremely busy. There was no cruise ship in and our stay was in November, so well after peak tourist season. Our room was comfortable and clean. It was well equipped and the bed was nice. Even though one of our windows faced the street, there was no issue with noise. I want to give a special shout out to one of the employees there. I’m so sorry that I can’t recall your name but you were amazing. This particular staff member was everywhere. She checked us in, she helped clean rooms, worked in the dining room and I never saw her without a smile and hello. I cannot comment on parking as my wife and I didn’t have a car this trip, but having the train station right there was super nice. We did ask about laundry service and they no longer offer it, so we had to use the laundrette about a ten minute walk down the Prom. That was not really an issue. I would recommend staying here.
