Infinite View Hotel

We enjoyed staying in this hotel, coveniently located in a shopping mall with a bunch of restaurants on the top floor and a wholesale Metro shop in the basement (where you can do terrific shopping without being a member).
Our room was very artisticly decorated (the whole hotel is), bed and bathroom ok, with a great view on a large pagoda (which is lit at night). Breakfast smoothly and lot of choice.

Artistic decorated rooms, good location

The hotel is on the side of a big shopping mall and under a KTV place. Why they would put a KTV place with terrible singing into the late hours is kind of silly, but it's China I guess. If you're a light sleeper then it would bother you, I'm a heavy sleeper so I didn't notice unless I was quiet and listened for it. The shopping mall has many food/shopping options, but the place is far from any sort of nightlife/bar type thing. The room was very large but seemed like it hadn't been maintained very well. There was tape on many spots on the walls, the carpet was coming up in a few places and when I was in the shower, most of the water ran out of the shower and into the bathroom floor area. I had to put rolled towels down on the floor to keep the water inside the shower room. The place was nice but I wouldn't pay more than 200 RMB or so a night. It was a bit expensive since it was a holiday weekend and I booked last minute. Also, be sure to speak Chinese since that's the only language they speak there. I asked for a receipt at checkout and they either didn't understand or didn't want to. I had a friend call later (who speaks Chinese) and they said it's impossible to email a receipt. So...maybe book this place as a last resort, like I did.

Ok place to stay when you have no other options

Great rooms with different paintings on the wall and the ceiling in each rooms. The beds are large and soft, the rooms are very large and so is the bathroom. The breakfast is ok, there is only one guy that makes eggs, although does the best he can, it takes about 15 minutes in line to wait for your egg. The same applies to the waiting line for bread and the coffee machine. Breakfast should definately be better organised.

Great room!

Our massive room was brightly painted with (as strange as it may sound) ladies with fruit for bottoms - see picture. It was actually a very nice room with loads of space, two huge double beds, a separate shower and toilet and wifi. But as the name of the Hotel suggests we did not have such an Infinite view as we overlooked the main road, but some rooms do overlook the beautiful Pagoda building on the hill in the park opposite. The breakfast was very good with a large selection but the egg chef was a bit slow. Also the main dining room was hired out for a private party and I think there was a disco because late at night when it closed suddenly hundreds of people leaving the venue have to walk past you room door. A lot of noise! Tip: if you like to Jog then get up early before breakfast and just opposite the Hotel is a beautiful Park and Lake which you can run around. The day I did this it was full of Chinese people jogging, playing tennis, exercising, dancing and practicing Tai Chi.

Funky Rooms!

Found this hotel via CTrip.  Chose it for its location in the north section of the city.  The taxi driver was amazing in helping us find this hotel.  The sign on the main thoroughfare was in English and Chinese characters not Pinyin so we couldn't find it under the above title.  He called the hotel and was given directions to the main entrance which was in the rear.  Everyone was very helpful but had limited English skills.  Since our Chinese skills were even more limited it was a struggle.  Our room was spacious with a 'sixties' motif.  The shower leaked significantly onto the floor and there was evidence of mold and condensation damage in the room along the shower wall.  The hall carpets were in desperate need of cleaning.  The dining area was spacious, clean and the staff tried to be helpful.  On the two occasions we needed a taxi the concierge spent quite some time outside in the cold trying to flag one down for us.  Ordering a taxi to come to the door apparently was not an option.  Staying at a hotel that catered to foreigners might be easier but not as much of an adventure!  The hotel is adjacent to a part of the ancient city wall and a taxi ride away from the train station.
