I had to book here because all of the other hotels were booked over labor day weekend.  The bedding had crust all over it and did not look like the bedding was changed.  The carpet was so disgusting that I did not want to take my shoes off.  I usually do not do any type of reviews, but felt the need to worn everyone to not book this place.  I booked for 2 nights and only using it the one night.

Choice Hotel... well make the choice not to stay here!!!

The price was right and choice hotel are normally a good deal, but this one let me down. Outside looks dumpy, weather worn. Inside. Rooms are clean looking, kind of musty smell. 1st R oom I had, ac didn't cool room. Just blew warm air. Second room, clean sheets on bed, but mouse droppings by pillows. Trucks running outside back of building. Noisy.
I need to remember to check reviews before booking.

This motel is reasonable in price, clean and neat, and the room is kept in good order by having trash dumped daily and fresh towels.  It is a dependable place to stay for the money spent.  A moderate breakfast is available daily.  The room includes a refrigerator and microwave, and a coffeemaker.

Economical, clean, and dependable

The outside of this motel looks really tacky and cheap, but the room I have has been totally renovated. Fresh carpet, king size bed, fridge with freezer compartment, big marble or similar sink counter.  AC works well.  I have a feeling based on reading other reviews that not all the rooms have been renovated.  A spanking clean, freshly renovated room is easy to keep clean.  One downside that might bother some travelers is that they also rent by the week. This motel is drive up and pet friendly.  Just be sure to look at the room before you pay.  The motel is near a big truck stop but the AC has just enough white noise so that all I hear is quiet.

Don't judge a book by its cover

I stay in Choice hotels over 60+ times per year, traveling many places for work.  I am a Diamond member, and by no means am an elite, snooty, or only stay in the most expensive hotel chains.  So, I rarely ever complain about the condition of a hotel.  BUT... I can’t stay quiet about this hotel.
We stayed in TWO different rooms last night, July 6, 2018, while traveling through Nebraska on our home from vacation.  I normally dont stay at any of the Choice hotels below Econolodge.  However, this Rodeway Inn was the only one available that had two rooms for us.  
First, I could not understand the Indian man at check-in, nor could he barely understand me. It took me a long time just to communicate with him.
Secondly, both rooms that we stayed in, room 30 and room 36, were the worst condition rooms I have ever seen in my life. My daughter stayed in 36 while we stayed in room 30. Room 30 was unbelievably dirty. There were stains, dirt, etc. on the carpet, the air-conditioning did not work at all, and there was even a hole in the wall with a pipe in it that allowed you to see into room 31 next-door. We had to cover it up with tissue.  The bed was completely broken down, and felt like sleeping on either a surfboard or just two boards with springs in between. The bathroom was disgusting. There were holes in the wall, paint chipping and peeling off everywhere, and blinds on the window in the bathroom that had something that look like feces on it. We could barely sleep at all, and felt like we were dirty when we woke up. There was literally nothing to eat except for cereal, which I am fine with. We simply ate somewhere else. We ran out of there as soon as we could, feeling like we needed a second shower just to clean ourselves from this hotel. I would give it a zero star rating, but it will not let me do so. Every other choice hotel I’ve stayed in the past has been good or excellent condition. This one should be removed from their hotel chain. I’ve already contacted Choice Hotels about this today as well. I do not want anything from them, but simply to let them know of this condition. We did not have time to look at the reviews of this hotel before we stayed, since we arrived so late in the evening. But would never stay in another roadway inn ever again.

Dirtiest Hotel EVER! Old, broken down & disgusting!  AVOID!

The Ogallala Rodeway Inn is an older motor court style place, but it has been updated and remodeled. My room was clean and quiet, the bathroom was clean if a little small, and the bed was comfortable.

The next time I need to spend a night in this part of Nebraska I will definitely be staying at the Rodeway Inn.

Older place but quiet, clean, and well maintained

Drove in on a Friday to stay the night and found it to be terribly dirty and falling apart. I understand that you get what you pay for but 80.00 for this room is 50.00 to much.  Needed to work on my laptop and the wifi kept failing. The bathroom had a window looking out the back of the hotel which was just creepy and odd. I felt like I needed to keep my shoes on just to walk the carpet.  I didn't take pictures to share,  but my bed was made but not cleaned. I pulled the sheets back to discover stains and hair on the pillows and sheets. I ended up stripping the bed and using my towels to sleep on and buffer the pillow between my head. Absolutely the grossest place I have ever encounter, and I have stayed in some nasty places while working on the road.  Don't stay here!!!!  Pay a few extra dollars and go somewhere else.

Stayed for one night and that was plenty.

Ogallala isn't a beautiful lush city of mountains and lakes--it's like in the middle of nowhere and this hotel does nothing to convince you that the area is a place you would like to be.  There are not a lot of cities and places for staying in eastern Colorado and western Nebraska.  We booked this hotel in advance for the location and was reasonable, though not cheap by many means.   It was where our 8 hour drive left us.  There were several hotels at this exit and I would choose another the next time.  It was just very shabby in appearance and the room was the same way.  There was a breakfast which consisted of cereal, toast and bagels plus a couple of bananas.  No peanut butter or cream cheese for the bagels,  There were two bottle of pancake syrup, but nothing there to use it on.  The orange juice seemed very watered down.  The waste receptacle with a swing top was filthy--and we ate early.  I doubt it had been cleaned in over a week.  There was a man to check us in, who was pleasant enough, but no one visible in the morning.
