Lovely stay at this hotel, Lovely clean and comfortable rooms, breakfast was really good and the host Lawrence and his family were amazing, Great Location for North and South bays would highly recommend to everyone. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely welcoming hotel, nothing was too much trouble.
Hotel rooms were lovely and spacious with all facilities. We even had the choice of which room we would prefer.
The breakfast was brilliant.
Would definately look at coming back

Well what a lovely family run hotel, the room we had was perfect for us and had plenty of room and was very clean, the hotel itself is perfectly situated a stones throw from Peasholm park which is handy for walking around and keeping the kids entertained. On the evening we wandered into Scarborough and had something to eat then came back around 9 ish the hotel bar area had a few people in so we joined them along with the owner Lawrence, we had a lovely night chatting and having a laugh we were all very relaxed, it’s clear from talking to people that they are regular visitors and you can see why. If you want an excellent clean relaxed friendly hotel in Scarborough with a cracking breakfast then look no further, we will be going again but this time we will book “direct” see you guys soon John Jayne and family x

This hotel has a wonderful family atmosphere. We were greeted by Lawrence with a cup of tea/coffee. 
The room was clean and comfortable with tea, coffee, bottled water and biscuits provided. 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels were provided.
A choice of breakfast was provided daily including choice of cereal or yogurt, full English, scrambled/fried/boiled eggs and plenty of toast and marmalade or jam. Breakfast was served by Lawrence's family who were all cheerful and made sure we had everything we needed. 
Lawrence and family were happy to give advice on where to visit and how to get there and we heard Lawrence ordering a taxi for a visitor. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our view was the trees of Peasholm Park (and if you looked really carefully through the trees you could see the sea) which is directly across the road providing a peaceful walk before heading into town.

We loved our stay at The Gordon Hotel, Scarborough.  Laurence is a great host, so very helpful in every way and provides everything for your comfort.  The room and en-suite were spotless and so comfortable and the location was great. Also a lovely breakfast!

The best experience we have had in a hotel. most friendly family you ever want to meet, couldnt do enough for you. Rooms clean and very comfortable breakfast was excellent. will definitely stay there again told family and friends if they go to Scarborough to stay at the Gordon hotel.

Recently spent two nights here with my husband.  A super welcome by Lawrence, a nice cup of coffee and carried out cases up to our room. Nice room, very clean comfortable with nice little touches. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice.  Lawrence’s team were lovely and polite and made sure we were happy and checked to see if we needed anything extra at breakfast. The bar was nice and it was nice to chat and have a drink.  We were in room 15 which was at the top and a nice room. Highly recommend. Definitely be back.

Having found the Gordon Hotel on line and just stayed for 3 wonderful nights ….we will be returning very soon!!!!. From the minute we arrived the Proprietor Lawrence met us and made us feel very welcome with a cuppa.A fantastic host who is always on hand to share a story and have a laugh with you. The rooms are very clean and tidy and well equipped with tea/ coffee and all usual facilities. We both commented that the bed was the comfiest we have ever slept in. During the evening Laurence is present in the on-site bar where prices are very very reasonable …Lawrence was on hand to share in stories and play table games with guests and their children .The morning breakfast is pre ordered with a large menu to suit all requirements….very well prepared and fresh produce. During our stay we met many couples and families who have returned to this Hotel year after year….it’s not hard to see why … very well done Lawrence on establishing a marvellous Hotel and facilities ….we cannot wait to return …Thankyou for making it such a memorable stay.

Wonderful welcome by Lawrence offering tea or coffee, which is a lovely touch after a long drive. He was a smashing guy,  chatty and professional in fact all the team were excellent through our stay. 

 Our room was large, spotlessly clean, a well stocked hospitality tray, lovely shower with toiletries and an extremely comfy bed. Breakfast was fresh, well presented and my full English veggie option was great.

Parking was easy, outside on the road but there is a driveway as well. We left the car there and we walked everywhere. We walked from the hotel right around both bays, to Scarborough Spa taking a steady couple of hours. 

We also walked back to the hotel,  from the beach and the shop/bars/restaurants under the Sands Apartments, (near open air theatre)   which took only 10/15minutes up a slight hill at a steady pace as it was hot!

 We also discovered to the North Riding real ale pub which we recommend. The entrance into peasolm park is just opposite the hotel and this cut out a longer walk around the outside of the park. 

There are a couple of nice restaurants (The Hideout and Peasolm Grill) on Colombus Ravine, which were 15/20 Mins walk away from The Gordon. 

The area around the park is lovely, big Victorian houses and hotels, the park is beautiful and there is a lovely cafe in the park by the way. We loved the naval battle on a Saturday afternoon in the park too. 

All in all, we loved the location, the cleanliness, the wonderful welcome and will definitely go back to this part of Scarborough and 100% would stay at the Gordon hotel again. Thank you Lawrence and team and cannot wait to come back.

Excellent service 👏.on arrival we were offered a hot or cold drink. very polite,friendly and welcoming . the rooms were 100% clean.nice big tv.the beds were lovely and comfortable.theres parking on the street if you are struggling to park,eat,or for trips out they are very helpful.the breakfasts are beautiful and tasty.we will be definitely be coming back xxx

A lovely warm welcome on arrival offering a cup of tea, the proprietor was very cheery and so laid back, our room was very nice all you could need, shower was great,tv, bathroom very clean also.a lovely comfy bed. A full English breakfast or anything of your choosing no problem, the lady that served breakfast were happy and smiling.The bar area was a good meeting place for a chat with other residents.A great location and lovely walks, bus stop into Scarborough around the corner, well worth a stay.

Visited for a Friday-Sunday break, arrived & welcomed by Lawrence who made us feel like old friends & offered us hot refreshments on arrival, room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, good sized bathroom with electric shower, again very spacious, excellent hospitality tray with plenty of choice. Breakfast served between 8-9 and was again very good, plenty to choose from and friendly staff on hand to see to your every need. A fantastic hotel and will definitely be back.

Delightful

Having been used to Premier Inn accommodation at the seaside we chose the Gordon as a replacement due to lack of availability. We were pleasantly surprised to find this quaint, b&b right next to Peasholm Park. We arrived around midday and we were met by a chap who immediately offered us a brew which was nice. I had to laugh as reading another review they mentioned that the owner through the breakfast options and timings. I had to get him to show me the list so I had a chance of ordering what we wanted correctly. The room we booked was the family suite on the ground floor which was massive and perfectly fine for us. Yes the curtains aren’t black out so there are light issues but everything else was really nice and exactly what I’d expect from a seaside b&b. Breakfast was served promptly and was absolutely fine. I would recommend this place to anyone who knows what to expect from a seaside b&b, it’s not a modern premier inn but you get exactly what you need for a reasonable price. This is a 3 star level hotel, the four stars is for our experience at this 3 star hotel.

Lawrence, Christine and the team at The Gordon went over and above to make our stay as comfortable and care free as possible. The cleanliness was second to none. The food was excellent, and the hospitality from the minute you step over the threshold and are offered a brew, to leaving for home is outstanding. We arrived as guests and left as friends. We will undoubtedly be visiting again soon.
