Stunning grounds and unique rooms (we occupied 4 rooms in total for the family). Great to have some tea in the library upon arrival and had a lovely walk on the grounds and around the nearby village on the second day. I loved the Christmas decor/ floral arrangement! 

We were blown away by the food and service at ‘smoke’. Our wonderful waitress was lovely and charming- compliments to the chef! I’m sorry that I’m so forgetful with names but the 2 ladies who were breakfast staff on Sunday 17th morning were so lovely.
Lee who hosted us was super fun, approachable and accommodating and tailored to my families need. She was so thoughtful of my mother who has walking issues. Very warm and friendly service from a hostess/front desk young lady with dark brown hair (so sorry I didn’t remember your name!) - she was so helpful from day 1 and helped us retrieve a bag we left in our room on our final day. James made me the BEST amaretto sour I’ve ever had (and I’m very hard to please when it comes to my drinks!) really loved his calm energy and amazing service as the family spent time together in the game room on Saturday evening. 

it was so important that staff were not to overbearing as our family had not spent time with each-other for a while, The manor staff had the perfect balance we always felt they were there for us, but took a step back to let us enjoy the hotel and each others company. We’ll be back!! 



Wonderful staff and inspiring stay  

Blessed with loved winter weather our w/e stay was great. We recommend taking advantage of all the activities on offer. We will be back for the resteraunt!

A top-class hotel with bar and restaurant . Situated in its own grounds this is an ideal luxury hotel convenient to Birmingham and Coventry . The food is excellent. The building has historical significance .Staying is an experience

A must stay hotel

We visited the manor back in April looking for a hotel for our wedding night and we’re instantly captured by the beauty of the place. 
We finally stayed in the Robert Peel suite for our wedding night and the room is just incredible, wonderful views across the grounds from every window. A wonderfully comfortable bed, fresh coffee, a large bath and shower and so many lighting options. 

Breakfast was top quality and the staff were passionate about what they were serving. 

This hotel deserves a 2 night stay minimum to really appreciate everything it has to offer.

Incredible experience 

I am going to start off with some advice for others staying at Hampton Manor,.

First of all, Shadowbrook Lane is cut off at one end, I think by HS2 works so it may last a long time.  That means that you need to enter Shadowbrook Lane from the Hampton in Arden village end.  Our car's and my phone's  satnavs both tried to bring us in from  the closed end which cost us about 45 minutes and a lot of stress.  This is especially important if you are coming from the M5/M42.  The village end has a "Road Closed" sign, but just ignore it.  (1st hint to management: how about informing clients in advance about this problem?)

Secondly, on the day of our visit the flight path to Birmingham Airport was right over the hotel and we were woken up when the morning landings started about 6am.  We had earplugs with us, so it wasn't too much of a problem, but make sure that you bring earplugs as well.. (2nd hint to management: how about putting earplugs in the rooms?)

Thirdly, the lights in the bedrooms in the main house are amazingly dim.  In fact, when we entered the room for the first time, we though that the switch for the central light didn't work because there was almost no difference in room illumination between on and off.  So, bring a torch, especially if you are going to stow clothes in the wardrobe or chest of drawers, both of which are in dark corners.  The one bright light in the room was a desk lamp and we had to move that around instead of using a torch.  (3rd hint to management: put a very much brighter bulb in the central light.)

Smoke restaurant is about a 5 minute walk from the main house and the little electric bus that runs you to and from was broken down on our visit.  Fortunately it wasn't raining when we stayed, but put an umbrella in the car.  (4th hint to management: put umbrellas in the rooms.)

Having said that, we very much enjoyed our stay.  The whole atmosphere was very relaxed, the staff were wonderful and the meal in Smoke was extremely good.  If you like English sparkling wines, the hotel has an outstanding wine list including some very rare vintages of Nyetimber.  For those of you who haven't tried English sparkling wines, try a top one when you stay here and drink it slowly.

We recently visited and enjoyed a one night stay and a meal when Smoke was at the manor. Most things are wonderful, but the hotel needs to up its game in two areas. Firstly..communication. Check in was appalling - there was only one poor girl on reception doing a booking on the phone, whilst we and one other couple waited quite some time to be dealt with. Then, had I not come across some fairly hidden information about experiences on the website, we would have missed out of the amazing 4pm free wine tasting open to all guests. Looking at another review here, we clearly did miss out on another experience, as we were not offered the chance of having the complimentary welcome drink and snack from the bakery in the lounge. The hotel also offers free coffee and croissants in the morning if you don't fancy breakfast, but again, this isn't mentioned. Just so you know, at 11am they also offer tours of the estate. Secondly, whilst our room was beautiful and with a requested free standing bath, paint desperately needed touching up around doors and skirting boards, plus there's a water leakage problem in the wall of the bathroom which desperately needs dealing with...particularly when you're paying these prices! 

BUT, the sommeliers,  Max and Harry, were brilliant - totally enthused about wine and conveyed their passions in accessible and down to earth ways. Dinner was great, apart from one course which was way too sweet (nothing was done about that, just acknowledged). They kindly adapted the set menu for me as a pescatarian, and also adapted the wine pairings as I don't drink red wine. The room had great furnishings and was super quiet, giving a great night's sleep. And the grounds were lovely to walk in.

Not cheap but totally worth it and hopefully we'll be back for a more seamless experience...and to experience the bakery when it's open.
