I came across the Gillis Centre while searching for accommodation in Edinburgh and thought it looked lovely and presented a novel idea for accommodation while we were touring. We were very impressed with this terrific refuge from the craziness of a very busy city. The room was very nice, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The grounds are terrific, a beautiful spot after a busy day of touring. It's also much less expensive than B&Bs in Edinburgh. The Centre is only 15 minutes away from downtown by bus and the bus stops are right outside the Centre. I would highly recommend this to anyone. They apparently also rent meeting space for conferences and business activities.
