We booked The Rumblies Guesthouse at short notice after getting soaked on our hike. It couldn’t have been better - rooms offer above and beyond, the whisky bar is fantastic (and we drank next to a fire, which after 26 miles in the rain felt like paradise), and the breakfast was delicious. Thanks to the hosts.

Where to start. A very comfy room with a tremendous shower in the en-suite. Delicious homemade shortbread with the tea/coffee. Through to the bar/snug for a beer before dinner. Dinner was delicious finished off with a wee whisky. Breakfast equally good & you’ll see some wildlife from your breakfast table. When you’re a long way from home Simon & Fiona make you feel very much at home.

Possibly one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in. A very warm welcome on arrival from Fiona and secure lock-up for our bikes. The room was very clean, comfortable, plenty of tea and homemade shortbread. Great bathroom, shower and bedding. Evening meal was delicious and catered for my wife's gluten free requirements. Fiona and Simon also use produce sourced locally and from their own vegetable garden. Simon is a whisky expert and we enjoyed tasting his own blend and another one he selected us to try. He has vast knowledge on the subject so we learnt much about the industry.  Breakfast was also very good, with an array of options, all of which were top notch.  
Fiona and Simon are consummate hosts - you can tell they have been doing this for several years and really understand how to make the stay for their guests as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They have extensive local knowledge too, both about the history and activities, plus a genuine warmth and friendliness. If you are visiting this stunning, quite isolated part of Scotland, then I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

What a lovely place to land after a long day of exploring.  The area is quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently located for our trip from Edinburgh to Skye.  The gardens and the breakfast room were delightful and the breakfast delicious.  The owners were so friendly and helpful.

During our 6th holiday in Scotland, we've visited the Cairngorms for the first time. And what an experience our visit to the Rumblie has been. This must be one of the best guesthouses we've visited in Scotland.

First of all, the tranquility of the location is absolutely fantastic - a real sanctuary, not just for us mortals but also for the great variety of birds that visit the garden. It makes for quite a spectacle during breakfast, watching all the birds, large and small, feeding on the food provided by the Rumblie's hosts, Fiona & Simon.

Fiona & Simon create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home as soon as you step inside. They also provide great help in selecting walks as they know just about everything about the surrounding area - custom walks on demand!

The room we've had was large, with great beds and excellent en-suite facilities. The breakfast was great and my son was immediately converted into a devotee because of the pancakes he was provided with.

This is definitely a place we'd like to return to on a future occasion.

i booked my walking holiday with gemini walks and they find great bnb’s. simon and fiona are super hosts. the food here was by far the best i had. also got a complimentary glass of simon’s own scotch. they are both knowledgeable about the area and can answer any questions you have. the dining looks out on birds and you can see simon feeding the pheasants in the morning. homemade compote at breakfast was super good. they have definitely made the world a better place.

We were warmly welcome into this B&B, despite arriving after 6pm and having no reservation! The hosts were fantastic and went above and beyond to help us find accomodation for the following night on Isle of Skye. The breakfast in the morning was sensational. We had a fantastic nights sleep and it was a great way to start our Scottish holiday! Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

We arrived on a very wet Sunday after walking 18 miles on the East Highland Way and got the warmest welcome from Fiona. Being able to get out of wet walking gear, store it in the drying area and into a warm and comfortable room was heavenly. The room is a good size with a variety of teas and coffee (including freshly ground) plus homemade shortbread. And I really appreciated the bathrobe and slippers. The lounge was cosy and comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent and there is a small, well stocked bar in the lounge area. The information on the birds that can be seen at the garden feeders was a nice touch. Simon and Fiona are the best guest house hosts I’ve met in the 10 years I’ve been doing long distance walks around Scotland, England and Wales.  I have no hesitation in recommending The Rumblie. 

My husband Jesper and I were touring the highland and were fortunate to find our way to Fiona and Simon at the Rumblie in Laggan. Really warm and friendly atmosphere, excellent food - we had a home cooked 3-course dinner on arrival and a great breakfast featuring a formidable printed breakfast menu - Fiona did the works :-). And if you're interested in whisky then you'll be thrilled to learn from Simon who knows a LOT about Scottish whisky. 
Wonderful surroundings, great big room and spacious bathroom.
And thanks to Simon he pointed us to an interesting attraction in Thyborøn - in our own home country Denmark - we'll say hello to Gert & Bitten when we get there.
