Always good, Premier Inn keep up their standards. with quality rooms and service
Pity the evening meal at the Swan next door was so poor, steak pie was old, dry and overcooked the gravy came out of the small jug in one large gloop.
Breakfast was excellent - 2 different chefs?

Great place to stay for a one night stop over on our journey to Glasgow.
Friendly staff at the hotel and restaurant.
Clean and quiet. Comfortable bed as usual in a Premier Inn.
The parking was easy and free.
We would stay again.


Fantastic team in both the hotel and restaurant, very welcoming and helpful, restaurant offers a very warm and cosy feeling with fantastic decoration, an open fire and lovely food. Really enjoyed my stay so far and will definitely be coming back!

Perfect one night stay

Friendly, warm and welcoming 

Not great, I usually like Premier Inn as I know what you’re going to get.  

I arrived late after three hours travelling. Room 2 had a musky smell, heating that kicked in with a bang as it came on through the night.

Breakfast is in the pub  next door and you’d do well to find somewhere else.  People are nice but I wouldn’t return

Tired premises, need a big refresh. Accommodation OK, but not worth the £77 price. Evening food at the Swan was OK. Breakfast was horrible: continental breakfast fell veru far short of the menu promise. Things were running out and staff were not replaving them. Virtually nothing suitable for diabetics, all sugar- laden fruit, juices, pastries and jams. Needs a rethink.

The room itself was spacious and clean.

It has the older premier inn fittings and the bathroom desperately needs looking at.

The bathroom appears to have black mold in various spots which would have cause for concern no doubt, but again also has the old fittings so time for a refurbishment on this room or bathroom at least.

I also found it strange when in a room there is no bedside socket for charging devices

This is evidently one of the older premier inns as there is no lift and you get an actual key.  Hotel also doesn't have a lift so be aware.

It is a premier inn, they are basically all the same and you get what you pay for.  If you are saying here, park down the slope by the reception.

Nicole on reception has been amazing with me and my family any issues she has done her best to come up with solutions and was very understanding. Dwayne on housekeeping has been wonderful making sure we had enough things on our room due to us being here for a long time. The staff have been wonderful can't fault them. However, the rooms are not what is displayed on the main premier inn website, they are very dated in dire need of repair let alone upgrade! The noise levels from other guests, be it in their own rooms, walking the corridors is terrible!

Stayed here at the weekend, arriving late Friday night, leaving first thing Sunday.

The hotel itself is very tired and dated. Given the lack of investment, I would guess that Premier Inn are looking to close this hotel in the near future. Shortage of sockets in the room and none near the bed (I use a cpap machine). Bathroom also looks tired and the fittings are very worn. Free wifi is very slow and mobile reception in the area is poor.

As for our own personal experience. Room hadn't been cleaned, with some of the previous occupants belongings left on the shelf behind the towels - didn’t notice this until the Saturday morning. Made for a very uncomfortable stay, not knowing whether the towels and bedding we used were clean or not. Booked a breakfast for myself and the kids for the Saturday morning. Breakfast was in the accompanying pub and wasn't worth it (unlike when we stayed in the Leeds Premier Inn in December, who have their own restaurant). When we returned after breakfast, the front door of the hotel was locked and took ages to get someone's attention and was told "a guest must have locked it". Then discovered that I had been charged for two breakfasts (kids meals are free). When I spoke to the duty manager she said that their system showed only one booked and paid for. When I showed her the email receipt, she just shrugged her shoulders and told me there was nothing she could do. On leaving the hotel on the Sunday morning, discovered that the staff smoking area is right outside the front door, so you can't avoid walking through a haze of smoke.

Premier Inn's are basic, I've stayed in loads over the years, but this one is dire.

Grateful we only stayed here for one night as we found the room gloomy and sparse, with an overbearing smell of damp. The room was cold and the measly sized heater didn’t make much of an impression. Very disappointing, I certainly wouldn’t recommend staying here.
