Very good position, Accommodation was very clean and nice friendly staff.

Good to stay in budget, basic accommodation but adequate, stayed  about 10 days, nice staff, neat and clean beddings, room cleaned by staff every day, staff were polite and helpful, great value for money, would stay again.

A little messy and damp smell. Too warm can't provide fan. In fairness, they were doing cleaning on the hallways and rooms.  Outside cigatrette butts everywhere.  Friendly staff. Needs more rectifications.  Furnitures too old.  Bedside lights not working.

Dirty sheets, definitely a put off.Reception was friendly and helpful.

It was a very old fashioned building and a very unusual lay out. I thought it was clean and very tidy. Very respectful of your privacy.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and my room was clean and tidy, beds were comfortable, TV was working and the bathroom is very clean too. Always nice and warm has shower gel and has got a bath towel to relax. 

I stayed here last night and I’m not sure why this place has had such a bad press on other review sites.... It was clean, quiet, good location, friendly staff....  The en-suite was clean and modern, the bedroom was small but cosy. (It was a double bed rather than a king size). Tea, coffee, & toiletries generously provided. Large-ish TV with 40+ freeview channels, WiFi, free car park. Let’s just say it did the job - perfect for brief overnight stay, by all means not somewhere you’d go for a romantic weekend, but for £40, I was very pleasantly surprised. Didn’t have any issues or problems at all. Only negatives were there was a missing bulb on a bedside light and the pillows were quite flat (I’m sure if I’d asked for another they’d have provided one though).They don’t offer meals or breakfast but you’re only a 5 minute drive away from a retail & leisure park with loads of eateries so wasn’t a problem for us. I would very happily stay there again..... clean, functional, cheap and cheerful :)

I booked and paid through Expedia, then later checked out the Trip Advisor reviews and was so worried but i needn’t have been- it did the job - perfect for brief overnight stay, by all means not somewhere you’d go for a long romantic weekend, but for £40, I was very pleasantly surprised.

Didn’t have any issues or problems at all and wouldn’t have any reservations about staying there again.

Stayed after attending a music festival.  Great place to lay your head.  Very comfortable bed and they accommodated our early arrival.

Had a lovely stay at The Old Vicarage Hotel and the receptionist was really helpful and let us check in a little early which was appreciated. This did mean we were in Room 1 which is just outside Reception so at 3am when some drunks came in wanting a room (the hotel was fully booked) they decided to kick off and cause disturbance. This was no fault of the hotel and staff handled it really well.

I wanted somewhere cheap. Only £50. Up the road £115. I arrived and it suddenly became £70 cash only. Maybe I mis-understood. The room was a double. Working TV. Clean sheets, towels, kettle with milk, coffee and tea. Room a bit run down, but not that bad. Reception and walk to room had a lot of character. Car park felt safe for car and reasonable area. 
Negatives. I had to ask for a toilet roll and in the morning the shower did not work. If I had asked I think I could have moved rooms. 
Overall I got somewhere cheaper, so not going to be as good as the hotel up the road.

Hotel not that bad at all

The reviews for this place are terrible but it genuinely wasn't that bad. Yes, its a little dated and could do with a lick of paint and a deep clean. But for the price paid, it's ok. The staff member on reception didn't say much but showed us to our room and was ok. Plenty of free parking and the room was an ok size. I wouldn't stay here for a romantic weekend away but for a bed for the night, after a boozy night with friends, it's absolutely fine.
