I have been going to the lakes on fishing trips for the last 20 years. 
I can honestly say that the Priory Hotel has been the most pleasurable, best value, stop over yet. 
It’s staff, rooms and breakfast in particular, are absolutely fantastic. 
Great service, spotlessly clean and courteous, helpful team, how refreshing to find this in the UK. 
Cannot recommend this charming hotel highly enough 😎🎣

Myself and my husband stayed at the Priory hotel in Cartmel for 2 nights. The staff were amazing and the hotel and food was lovely. They don’t have any parking but you can park in the racecourse for £10 overnight and it is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. I could not fault it. Cartmel is lovely with plenty of pubs to eat and drink. I would recommend that you book a table as it gets very busy. We went to Grange over sands which again was a lovely village and only 10-15 minutes away with a pier, great for dogs. Windermere was about 30 minutes away.  I would highly recommend this hotel. The only downside was that the bar shut at 7pm and food finished at 4pm but that could be because it was midweek. The other pubs served food until about 9 pm 

Really good hotel. No fuss. Quality bed, room, bathroom, breakfast, service, friendliness, helpfulness. Spotless clean. Character buiding but not over the top. Lovely setting.  Watch out locally though, getting food after 8pm is an issue. Even though there are 3 nice pubs in the village!  I hope to return. (But eat early!)

Nice bar , good choice of food and a friendly atmosphere. Weather was fine so we sat outside and heaters were provided, good range of beers and all reasonable priced,  sat in the square people watching 

Spent a day recently in and around Cartmel. Lots of places to eat and we were spoiled for choice. We decided to opt for a meal at the Priory Hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and as we had our dog with us we were delighted that it was dog friendly. It was a very warm day and though we could have eaten inside, we opted to have a drink in the beer garden before we ordering our meal. The proprietor said that they would be very happy to serve our meal in the well shaded beer garden. We both ordered the freshly cooked beer battered fish, which was was served with chips peas and tartare sauce. The portion was generous offering excellent value - always a bonus when you are hungry! The meal was well cooked and beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The warm friendly welcome, and the lovely meal combined with excellent customer service made our day. I would highly recommend the Hotel for a meal and as a family we would like to try out the accommodation on a future mini break.

Well done and thanks to the proprietor/ manager, the front of house staff and to those who work behind the scenes.

We only stayed one night as we had a meal at Rogan & Co. We didn’t travel far as we live in Ambleside but needed a little get away! Lovely room l, we stayed  in room 6! Will stay again! Thank you!    

Great curry night loads of curry’s  dips and popadom, lovely atmosphere, had a great choice, restaurant was tidy and welcoming, bar prices ok , throughly enjoyed the evening will come again with friends

Stayed for 1 night from January 3-4th and was met by a lovely guy on arrival who informed us our room was ready early so we could drop our bags before exploring the village. The room was absolutely incredible, clean, spacious and even came with a bath which was a nice surprise. 
Staff were all lovely and friendly and we got a lovely breakfast before departure.

Great value for money and if we are in Cartmel again we will 100% be staying there again. Thank you for an incredible stay

Arrived 25/11/22.
We came with friends to see christmas in Cartmel which was brilliant.
The hotel is so good we had lunch first which we all enjoyed.
Then checked in to our wonderful room. The room and en-suite is so clean the facilities available are spot on on.
I would recomend anybody coming to stay in Cartmel to stay here.

An excellent meal at Priory Hotel........well worth a visit. Warm friendly staff and excellent service.

Very friendly welcome on check in.
Room was so lovely (room 7) very clean, comfortable and spacious bathroom. Had a very peaceful sleep. Breakfast was definitely 5 star we both had smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Sorry it lost a star due to having to walk through cigarette smokers at the front door on arrival at 4pm then again at 7pm 
Shame as it’s such a lovely place. 
Despite this we will definitely return when in the area. I know it’s difficult to run a pub and keep everyone happy but Maybe suggest asking smokers to maybe not stand in the door way.

Brilliant Hotel

We called in at The Priory hotel to have a bite to eat, it certainly did not disappoint. We were welcomed by lovely, friendly staff and decided to eat in the bar area. The food was wonderful, plentiful and beautifully presented and cooked, top marks to the chef (Phil). We would not hesitate to recommend it and hopefully we will be back to stay. Helen gave us some pointers of where to see in Cartmel. She was so helpful and professional. Thank you, we will return.

Amazing food

Stayed with wife in twin room for four nights. Very clean and comfortable room on first floor. Excellent breakfast with good choice.
Staff attentive and very friendly.
The hotel has well stocked bar which is open to non residents and appears to be a meeting place for local residents. 
Would thoroughly recommend the hotel for anyone wanting a reasonably priced stay in Cartmel.

Central position in beautiful village.

Stopped off, on spec for a bite to eat before going on to our holiday let in Cark-in-Cartmel. Have to say the food was fabulous. We only had sandwiches and chips and a drink but everything was spot on. I had creamy cajun chicken which was absolutely delicious. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. 11/10
