Beckside Cottage

Backside Cottage has a central location; railway station, eateries, lakeside. The room was cosy and well equipped; there was even a sewing kit for my use as I had a loose button on my blouse. Jenny n Andy are perfect hosts and made our stay in Windermere extra wonderful. Jenny was such a helpful person and recommended interesting places for us to visit. And their  English breakfast is what my husband and I  look forward to every morning. Sumptuous. Would definitely recommend friends to stay at Backside Cottage. 

Stones throw from centre of Windermere ,and walk down to Bowness .very clean ,cosy wonderful breakfast made to order .Andy and Jenny great hosts happy to give ideas for trips out etc .if you get a back room you'll fall asleep to sound of the beck .

Just about to leave windermere and had to write a review about this fabulous place. From the moment we arrived to when we left Jenny and Andy have made Beckside Cottage a beautiful warm and welcoming place to stay. We were given maps for the local area and bus times however Beckside is located so well 10 minute walk to train station and 15/20 to the lake didnt need the bus! 

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights in Room 1 it was extremely clean highly maintained. Bath, face and hand towels povided with an excellent range of complimentry tea and coffee. There was also a range of bathroom essentials such as shower gel, hand lotion however we always travel with our own but it was a lovely touch. Another lovely feature of the room was a decent hair dryer, hot water bottle and a sewing kit. 

Breakfast is definatley 10/10 catering for practically everyones dietry needs we had the full english. Tea/coffee pots on offer with fresh orange/apple juice alongside selection of cereals, fruit and condiments for toast. Jenny was always on hand making sure everything was great. 

Cannot speak highly enough of this beautiful place. Definatley well priced, located, maintained and firmly established. Will be coming again Thank you Jenny and Andy.

The cottage is located in a great area...more like perfect as it was close to the station, 25 minute walk to the lake and close to the town center!!

Room was as expected....slightly old school but neat and clean. Toilet looked like it was recently renovated and would match the toilet of any 4* hotel with ease.The breakfast was amazing!

If you want to go to the lake district and don't want to waste money on crazy extravagant hotels this is the place to stay!!

This was the second time I stayed at the Beckside.  Our room was small with a tiny en-suite, but fairly quiet, and the beds were comfortable. Residential street, 5-15 minutes walk from the library, restaurants, and railway. Breakfasts were delicious with locally-sourced produce and free-range eggs, and extra effort to accommodate our food requests. When we asked where the nearest Laundromat was, Andy told us but then offered to do our laundry for us. Next day we had cleaned, folded clothes, and Jenny charged us less than we would have paid to spend a couple of hours at the Laundrette. Jenny and Andy are efficient and work as a team, without making a big fuss over anything.  Jenny wears jeans, not a frilly apron. We had anytime access to the room - even the day Jenny was away on a long-distance bike ride. Definitely on my list if I go to Windermere again.
