Nice big room, stayed in room 3, shower had a bit of a leak in the pipe but pressure was still amazing. Staff were lovely and friendly. Table service at the bar/restaurant, its small but a real country pub atmosphere. The food was amazing, a bit of a wait but well worth it. The breakfast that was included with the room price was a lovely full English. 
Would definitely stay again.

A small Green King pub in Sleights that you must stop at if you are heading to Whitby or leaving and have not eaten as you found the prices and crowds too much in that town. The fish had just been delivered when we got there and both the cod and scampi were sumptuous and the chips to die for plus the tartar sauce was home made and delish plus the usual mushy or garden. Good pud choices. Great service throughout and very fair prices.

An excellent experience. Very friendly staff and customers, I was made to feel welcome from the start. Very nice accommodation and pub. Wonderful, and I would recommend it any time. My only regret is that I could not stay longer. Thanks to all.

Stopped here last night, what a lovely place. The landlord and landlady were lovely and friendly, the breakfast was a yummy full English. Really recommend this place to anyone visiting Whitby area. Will be back 😁

Came for food at late  notice was able to get a cosy table for 4 adults and 3 dogs!!
Food was amazing , we had ploughman’s to share and asked for a bowl of scampi to come with it (scampi should be a main meal) they were happy to accommodate our odd request and adjusted the price for us . All the staff were lovely , accommodating and enjoyed having a laugh with us when my father in law was a little drunk and seeing buildings that were actually chimneys out the door 😂.

Four of us visited The Plough Inn for lunch on the hottest day of the year...
Nothing was a bother for the staff,  all friendly and helpful..
The meals were first class in quality and quantity   you could not wish for more.
We would recommend a visit to The Plough  Inn at Sleights if you are around Whitby or the North Yorkshire Moors...

Called to check we would be able to have an evening meal as near the finish time, was greated with yes of course by the Landlord who reserved us a table in the side dining area, amazing views! Had 2 fish n chips both yummy yummy! Lovely cool drinks & no stress at all.  Would def return. Relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Went here for a family meal, 4 adults and 2 young children. The pub was very busy, but we had reserved a table by email which was very easy. We were seated at our reserved table and a high chair was fetched for our grandson who is 2. The young lady who served us was friendly and welcoming, she was considerate of our needs and attended to us well. The food was top notch and the GF options were great. My wife, who is coeliac said it was the best pub meal she has had in years. We would not hesitate to return again on our next visit. Good value, good food and good music!

Booked a large table for family celebration ( and also a couple of rooms). We all grew up in local area and this pub where my parents has their wedding reception in 1967!
Food was absolutely wonderful and cooked fresh. Have visited many tomes before and was not disappointed - thanks Plough for making our celebration memorable.

Overall a great stay. Very friendly staff & a great pub atmosphere. Room was more than adequate. Just a couple of quite minor details that would be ‘nice to haves’ - bathroom lacks a hook for towels, a shelf for washbags etc, and a net curtain for a bit of privacy!  I hope that this is taken as constructive feedback. Breakfast was v good too. Would def recommend to others

A great stay

The perfect place to stay for a few days to explore Whitby & the surrounding area. Park & ride into town just a few minutes drive, is vey convenient. Only 3 rooms here but if you can get one, you won't be disappointed. The view from mine, room 3, was delightful. The staff are excellent BUT extremely busy, hardly surprising with a small but delicious menu & real ale.  Just make sure you book in, many were turned away when I stayed!!
The room was clean & comfortable & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this pub to stay, eat or preferably do both & I would defo make this my first port of call, if I travel up to this beautiful part of North Yorkshire again.
