Fantastic
3506 reviewsWe stayed at the Delphin BE Grand in July as a couple without children. The Check in process was quick and simple, there was no queue, it took less than 10 minutes and we were on the way to our room. We weren’t offered a welcome drink which is unusual, we have always been offered drinks when staying in Turkey, not an issue just an observation. We were offered a room upgrade for £100 to a BE romantic, we declined. Our room (BE Large) was clean, cool and spacious. The room overlooked the Titanic resort next door and had a sea view, although no option for swinging of cats because it was small. I think they are all small. Be aware Titanic has very loud entertainment pretty much every night and most until midnight. This can still be heard when the balcony door is closed! We used 2 of the available pools, the relax pool (1 day) and the activity pool. The activity pool was our main choice as there were lots going on all day. We didn’t have any issues getting sunbeds and we had the same spot every day. I did go down at 8.30 though. There is a no reserving of sunbeds before 8.30 and they do enforce this policy. We did use the lazy river which was nice but wearing a life jacket did seem a little pointless, however it was a good alternative when a ring wasn’t available. We didn’t use any of the slides. We only managed to book 1 of the a la carte restaurants (Greek) but we were not enamoured by the food. The whole booking of a la carte restaurants is a joke with a huge queue forming before 8.30! We didn’t bother in the end, there was an app but you couldn’t book them on that either. We used the main buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner every day and swapped between the other food locations dotted around the resort for lunch. The main buffet restaurant is huge with lots of different options for food, however I found it almost overwhelming with food choices and all in different places, by the time you have walked around trying to find what you want the food was only warm and sometimes cold. There was always plenty of seating available and we had the same seats all week. The options around the resort for lunch were also good and variable. Drinks were always plentiful whilst sat around the pool and delivered regularly by the guys and girls on skates. There was also fruit, ice cream and other snacks delivered around the pool area. This was great as you didn’t need to visit the bar, although you still could if you wanted to. Tip: We took flasks to either keep drinks cool or use 1 for ice. We only saw 1 other person using their own drinks bottles. Entertainment around the pool consisted of the usual water polo and volleyball with darts and other activities. I found that there was an excellent variety of other activities/competitions around the pool that I have not seen in any other resort. I must mention the main person organising the activities, he is a great entertainer, I think he would be great leading some different activities in the evening. I found that whilst there was plenty of evening entertainment the nighttime shows were a real disappointment for us, they pretty much consisted of dance shows every night. Some more variety would be better here. There were a couple of nighttime shows in the grass area next to the arena and we particularly enjoyed the Masquerade night. Most staff were friendly and always had a smile on their face! Our maid (5th floor a block) was always smiling and cheerful and even blew us a kiss when we were leaving! She was a stand out employee for us, I don’t know her name. We have stayed in lots of AI’s in Turkey, Crete, DR, Mexico, overall this was probably one of the best for an all-round great experience. Nothing was stand out brilliant but there were lots of things that were done well to give a good guest experience. Perhaps improvements could be made with evening entertainment and a better way for displaying where food is at the buffet. Also a better way for booking a la carte restaurants. I would come back and bring other family members with us!
