Mazzini Place

We stayed here for one night before flying out of the airport the following day. We found it pretty hard to find as all maps are incorrect, including Google. They all show Mazzini Place to be on a busy cross roads... it isn't it's in a side street, off a side street close to the airport. Very quite area. The building and room were immaculately finished. We went for the 700 Baht 'Superior' room. Which was very large, the bed was huge. We also had a balcony overlooking some empty rural land with a lake/pond. We had aircon, of course. A fridge. And a TV system that showed some badly compressed Thai TV. Although thankfully the TV had a USB port so we could watch our own movies from a USB stick. Oh and the free WiFi was quick and reliable. Again, the room was easily built and furnished to a high 4 star standard. However, there was a small problem. The room was clearly cleaned by someone much smaller than myself. Anything above the 6-7ft line had cobwebs/spiderwebs. And not particularly new ones. Old ones. The bin in the bathroom had a few bits of rubbish in, nothing offensive, but still, should be empty. Also a half used bar of soap on the sink. The above are the only reasons I wouldn't give this place a 5/5 for value for money. It has to stick with a solid and high 4/5. As this is more of a Motel than Hotel, there is no breakfast option. Which is a shame. But as I imagine most people will be using this place prior to flying they can always grab food at the airport. If not, there is a 7Eleven five minutes walk up the road. Also, there are not many power outlets if you are gadget nerds like the wife and I. We found only six outlets! Two are in use for the TV and cable box. One is used from the fridge. And the other three are all in one wall unit on the bedside shelf... Odd. Maybe buy an extension cord from 7Eleven when your stocking up on snacks. I would recommend, but would like to see the cleaner given a step ladder.
