I'd seen this place online before travelling over to Sweden. When our son's partner suggested that we could go here for lunch as part of our drive along the coast south of Umeå we decided to give it a try. The building it is in is lovely, in a rather charming faded elegance. With snow and ice plus temperatures around -5c the restaurant is really comfortable. The rooms are spacious and rather grand. The lunch deal is typically good value for the menu for the day. At 100 SEK it gave us a salad table, bread, hot elk or salmon with 2 types of potatoes and a sauce, chocolate brownie and cream, cheese, a cold drink and tea or coffee with biscuits. Plus if tasted great. Nowhere else around was open so unfortunately the old ironworks and shop were not open. The gentleman who seemed in charge was very helpful. Altogether a lovely, lovely lunch.
