Hantana Range View Home stay

We spent two days in this wonderful house. It was our first stop in a 3 weeks travel in Sri lanka and no others places matched this one after that. Frances and Patrick made us feel at home since the very first minute. Their house is  really charming, full of life, well located and has an amazing view. The breakfast and dinner were sublime, a wide variety of local dishes, fresh fruits and vegetables form the market. WE hope to go back in a few years so our 1 year old son can properly meet Frances and Patrick and keep warm memories of this wonderful place, as we do.

This property has lovely bedrooms that are spacious and comfy. Stunning view from our room with balcony. The hosts are delightful and helpful. Very welcoming indeed. Lovely staff as well who make sure your needs are taken care of. Good location away from the hustle and bustle. 

We stayed at Hantana Range view for two nights as part of our visit to Kandy. Hantana is the home of Patrick and Frances and they do everything they can to make the stay the best it can be. 
We ate a lovely curry on the first night, and learnt about Breadfruit and other Sri Lankan ingredients. Frances arranged a driver for us to explore the sites of Kandy and made suggestions too. She also arranged a tuk tuk to take us to the train station, and checked there would not be a strike on the day we travelled.
We loved spending time at breakfast and in the evening looking at the fantastic view from their home and learning about their time managing a tea plantation before they retired. They showed us a photo album of the plantation and its gardens and original bungalow.
The breakfast was huge and included fruit from their garden. Their home and the accommodation is a few minutes by tuk tuk from the centre which is great because you are up and away from the noise, heat and hustle of Kandy. So after a big day exploring the city or walking through the Botanical Gardens, Hantana is the perfect place for a time out. 
We stayed on the top floor in a large bedroom with ensuite. This floor also has the living room and dining room. There are also two large rooms below and they are equally nice and have a balcony that looks out to the Hantana Range. 
We totally recommend staying at the Hantana Range View, it felt like staying with distant relatives. Its a nice way to learn about Sri Lanka rather than stay in a soul less hotel. 
Their space is great for friends, couples, and also solo travellers.

Frances and Patrick are a delightful couple who make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. We had a great discussion about the area,  travel etc. the place was lovely and food was great! We had an omelet and fruit for breakfast and were also treated to tasting some home grown soursop. So delicious!

We had a lovely two night stay at Frances' and Patrick's home. We arrived very late at night after our flight from Melbourne and Frances waited up for us, offering us tea and soup. A perfect start to our holiday in Sri Lanka. Frances also organised a driver to pick us up from the airport who was very polite, punctual and friendly. We ended up using Praboda the next day to take us around Kandy and surrounds.
Frances and Patrick's home is in a great location, stunning views over the Hantana ranges, very quiet and still close to town.
We opted for dinner and it was one of the best meals of our trip - would recommend dining at home rather than in town.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

We recently spent two nights at the Hantana Range View homestay. Frances and Patrick are the perfect hosts - very warm, kind and caring people, who looked after us really well and helped us to organise transport and sight seeing activities so that we could make the most of our visit. We also enjoyed delicious breakfasts and a wonderful home cooked dinner at the homestay. The house is impeccably clean and the rooms are very comfortable. Highly recommended.

A warm welcome greeted us upon arrival and we settled in straight away thanks to Patrick and Francis's lovely hospitality. Food was delicious, rooms were clean and the views out of the balcony were spectacular. Would recommend to any traveller looking to stay a few nights in Kandy. 

Wow, what a beautiful home. We spent two nights here. Francine and Patrick are such a friendly, gracious host. The view is beautiful. They made us feel as part of their family. We can truly,  highly recommend their home.

The hosts, Frances & Patrick, greeted us warmly on arrival and  offered us a welcoming juice and  homemade cake, which was delicious.  Our stay at Hantana Range View was so pleasant and comfortable.  Everywhere spotlessly clean.  Wonderful view, of the mountains, from their sitting room and our bedroom balcony.  It was nice to have such tasty home cooked food and Frances was so attentive at all meal times.  We would certainly recommend their home stay.

Perfect place to stay with local people in their house.room was spacious and with a lovely balcony.the food is very yummi and authentic.go there If you enjoy warm hospitality instead of anonymous Hotels.
