Ranca

We stayed for 2 nights in Casa Ancuta and it was awesome. 

We arrived late in the evening but the hosts welcomed us very promptly. Because we arrive late we were hungry and they even served us a very nice dinner, even if the restaurant was not opened.

We were welcomed in the villa and were pleasently impressed by the rule that some other people in the comments did not like. We appreciate that the guests must take their shoes off upon entering the villa, and we were given single use slippers for walking around. Very proffessional and clean.

The villa is big enough and very clean. It has a beautiful lobby and each floor has several rooms. We stayed on the top. Floor and we had two connecting rooms shared bathroom. Since we were a family the kids stayed in one room and we stayed in the other. The fact that we shared the bathroom was not a problem for us, being a family.

The view in one of the rooms was facing the main street, while in the other had a beautiful mountain view, on the opposite side. 

There is a wonderful garden with a swinging bench, very suitable for adults, but quite dangerous for children, since it is situated on top of a hill. A nice canopy with tables and benches where you can have a dinner next to the fireplace is also available in the garden. 

The restaurant has a beautiful view of the mountains and the hosts always played the best music. Very good quality smooth jazz that made us instantly relaxed and filled with good energy. 

Even if the restaurant was not opened, and we didn't have meals included, the hosts cooked for us every meal and we had the most wonderful good quality eco cheese, tomatoes or cucumbers.

On top of everything we were lucky to have great weather and we enjoyed every moment!

Beautiful place with wonderful view

We paid via Booking for a mountain view terrace room, and received one with no view at all - only cars on the street and people and other pensions at sight. The house rules are absurd, and are not stated on any site. You cannot go with your street shoes inside the pension, you cannot eat inside your room. The water is cold late at night and early in the morning, it gets terribly cold inside the room. I would give it 0 starts if i could. Not worth your time, better sleep in your car.

Horrible place

The great location and the spectacular view compensated for the not so pleasant things.

On the positive side

On the negative side

- shoes off policy ( 1st time encountered at a mountain resort ) 
- no option to eat something at the location
 - verry poor sound proofing of rooms

Great view

We have made our reservation through Booking.com. On arrival, there was nobody in lobby and reception. As I can't speak Romanian, my girlfriend went to look for them. When she has found someone, they have told her that they will be with us shortly. So, we have waited for half an hour. Then, my girlfriend went to look for them again, and they have finaly came with her. When they have appeared, without asking us for reservation, name, and no apology regarding waiting, they have insisted that we have to take off our shoes, and use slippers provided by them (still in the lobby).
On my question, what will happen if I refuse to wear someone else slippers, they have told us that we will not get a room. After all the wait, this was too much, so we left. 
In booking rules, nobody mentioned anything about having to wear someone else footwear. I understand if this would be a rule in winter period, with all the snow, and mud. Aldo, you can't run sky resort without bit more cleaning. But, at the end of May, when it is nice and dry outside...
And cherry on top, they have notified Booking.com that we didn't show up, and charged us for it.
