The site is phenomenal, in terms of excellent quality and price, the arrival was incredible the owners are lovely, the only thing that there is nothing to eat but very well, maybe they could put a little delicacy in the dining room so that it is not necessary to leave here, but EXCELENCE.

It is excellent.

We were only there for one night but that one night was spectacular! The owners are incredibly friendly and hospitable. The room was generous and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic as well. Wish we had more time here as it was our best stay in Portugal yet!

Wonderful hideaway

First of all I have to say that we truly appreciated the availability and professionalism of the couple running this three room lodging house. I would definitely not say it's rural tourism and there is no reason to stay more than one night, after having seen the place first hand, besides the low rates or having a taste for it.

The hosts were so nice and welcoming that is really hard to say any bad things about Kazas do SeRado, but the truth is there are a few things that future guests should know before deciding whether going to stay there or somewhere else.

We were traveling, needed a place to rest in the last minute and this seemed to be that. I wasn't thrilled with the images of the rooms, that looked more like they were done structurally without an idea of what the result would be, with a mobile closet and a chair almost hidden on the side. The room was spacious but not tasteful as some reviews point out. There are nice elements on the foyer and the small stone house, integrated in the left of the property house with the rooms in the middle, where we had our breakfast, is very charming even if not well preserved in it's old heritage.

We are not smokers and though smoking is not aloud in the rooms, once we got in, there was a foul stench of tobacco. The other rooms were occupied so there was nothing they could do about it. The solution was to open a window so we could have fresh air coming in but these rooms had no windows. This was not something we could quickly see in the picture because we booked it during the car journey as we got tired.

Did I say the room had no windows...? So disappointing... Instead of windows the wall we came into the room was like a window display to the courtyard. So, besides not having windows but a glass door on a glass wall we also didn't have any really privacy. We needed to open a window and there was only that glass door with no view to justify being glass. It felt like we were trapped in a shop of a shopping mall, to say the least.

The bathroom was really big but had no bidet, which was strange because the pipes were there. They just didn't install one and left the pre installation visible. The bathroom had a small basculating window that was not enough to give us some relief from the heavy air inside and no curtain also to prevent light from coming in. Light that also came from under the curtains on the window display. Outside there was a very strong light turned on all night so we just couldn't really darken the room. We considered opening the door as this was clearly a trusting place with nice people hosting, but as soon as we did it a cat came to us and we realized it was not possible to keep it open because of cat allergies. And I'm going to stop right here because this is reason enough not to go back there.

There were other minor issues not relevant to our goal, which was resting, so we could continue fully enjoying our journey. It was a disaster, we got out as tired as we got in. Had very little sleep with trouble breathing.

Having said all this, you'll be warmly welcomed and I'm sure it can be a good experience if you don't mind any of the issues we found.

Window display rooms with a tobacco smell

This small inn is truly a hidden gem in the rural eastern part of Portugal. Paulo and Paula are amazing owners and truly love what they do-thag is obvious in every attention to detail in the rooms, the amazing amazing breakfast, and the offerings of Portuguese wines in the evening by a fireplace  

Tiny slice of rural paradise 

Last June we stayed for 2 nights in this property; what to say...excellent, as well as the owners, Paola & Paolo, really special. We had 2 fantastic days, the spectacular, abundant and exquisite breakfast. The room with the comforts of a suite, quiet place, near the city center, the owners are prepared in the reception, we felt like at home, checking out the smallest details. Although we were not impressed by the site but also by the impeccable hospitality of the owners and their dedication to show us the country and the local cuisine, we can only recommend this site for the cleanliness of the rooms and modern comfort and modern decoration, but Paula's kindness allows us to return to our next stop.

Tranquility and payment

We found these guest rooms quite by chance and especially at the last minute very excellent home of Paula and Paulo without forgetting the pantoufla dog the rooms are top and decorated with a lot of taste and comfort with very affordable prices private and secure property where you will spend peaceful nights delicious lunch with good local and organic products we travel a lot around the world and it is rare to fall on pretty rooms and especially unforgettable people for info excellent gastronomic restaurant o babiana nearby a thousand thanks to Paula and Paulo for this very short stay

Guestrooms you can 't miss and worth visiting!

We stayed with friends and occupied the 3 rooms available. Very warm home, impeccable cleanliness, modern rooms (very good bed) and very well equipped, quality and quantity breakfast, in a nice quiet home at the entrance to the Serra da Estrela. Go there in peace! Bravo to Paula and Paulo

Excellent guest rooms

The owners a lovely couple greeted us at the gate, and made us feel special right from the get go. The rural turist hotel was cosy with every amenity you could need, heating for winter air con for the summer ....Amazing breakfast with homemade and rural bread jams, anything and everything you could want for breakfast.......Close to  the highways and tourist villages such as Belmonte. Yet the setting is so quiet and tranquil you feel really relaxed.....Well done to Paula and her husband I wish you only success, You attention to detail is impecable
