This is a nice hostel with some of the best prices we could find for Paracas (other hostels were much more expensive). The room was clean and spacious, good hot water in the showers. No problems with wifi. Breakfast was good. The owner was friendly. Recommend.

We had a comfortable stay at Atenas Backpacker in Paracas. 

The property is conveniently located between the plaza and the Cruz del Sur bus terminal. 

The room itself is small but equipped with traveler essentials such as hanging points, a bedside table, and shelves to place things on. 

The property is family-owned. Pepe, Ellie, and Valentin were all courteous and helpful. Breakfast is good. 

The hostel offers great tour rates.

A wonderful hostel in a great location. The owners are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast and food/drink options are plentiful and delicious. Extremely clean rooms, comfy beds and hot water. 

If you’re looking to spend a few days in Paracas this is the hostel for you. Highly recommend renting bikes from the owner and cycling into the national park/desert. A real highlight of our stay.

Deciding to stay here was the most valuable decision of my entire Peru trip! I stayed in June 2021, so tourism was quite limited due to COVID-19. I was the only foreign guest at the time of my stay and this may have enabled the hosts to be even more attentive, but based on what I experienced, this place is run by very caring and capable people who want their guests to enjoy their stay in Paracas and Peru as a whole. 

I saw others mention issues with wifi and with checkin: these were absolutely not issues for me at all. Also, the picture on TripAdvisor shows the place in a considerably more rustic state than I saw it! 

I was given a level of service I have never before enjoyed elsewhere. The hosts anticipated an issue in the area that could have very adversely affected my trip, advised me about it, and helped me steer around it (which cost them the business of me staying there a second night, as my stay had to be abbreviated) so that I could still see and do everything I had hoped to in the area. I was looked after before, during, and even after my stay.

This is a budget property and is very nicely appointed for lodging of this category. I was completely comfortable and did not feel that any corners were cut with any aspect of my room, its amenities, or the service. Atenas Backpacker offered an exceptional value. There was not anything that could have been even a little different to enhance my enjoyment beyond having more time to stay here.

Bonus tip: the chicha morada beverage here is really, really good!

This place is clean and very neat. The service is good and it is close to the harbour. It has tiny resting area. It has only small amount of rooms so even it is full, still is a quiet place. Stay and enjoy!

Stayed here for a few nights while exploring Paracas and was extremely happy with my choice. The hostel is very easy to find and is extremely well located. All staff members we met were extremely helpful and nice. Some English is spoken but not much which was fine. We stayed in a twin room with shared bathroom and the room was nice. Small but clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and there is a fan in the room in case it gets too warm. We were there during their winter/spring so weather wasn't too hot or cold. Breakfast is basic but appreciated. The hostel offers many tours and also bicycle rental if you want to cycle around the national reserve. WiFi was excellent. The resident dog was also great. 

My only negative was there must have been some sort of breakdown of communication before we arrived. We emailed saying that we would be arriving at around 8/9 in the evening (Peru Hop) and would like to check in then. In the response, they said that this wasn't possible which we found odd. When we emailed again to say that we would have to cancel if we can't check in at 8 they said there's no problem at all. I'm assuming this was just a simple mistake. At the end of the day we're in a country that speaks Spanish, I'm sure if we tried to construct an email in Spanish to them there wouldn't have been an issue. 

Great spot, and amazing price. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for one night.

Receipt was very friendly and a nice common garden is available to relax. 
Room was on the small side but offers all you need and is clean.

Double bed as per Peruvian size standard, but with good matras. 

It was surprisingly silent during the night. 
We didn’t use breakfast.

Atenas is a solid bet!

One of our favourite hostels we've stayed in during 3 months of travelling !

The staff were so friendly, the guy got us into our room straight away and let us get settled before checking in at reception. There is a fridge by the entrance where you can purchase drinks. Two communal lounge areas, one inside with a tv and one outside with a couple of sun loungers and lots of seating under shade too. There's also a kitchen which we didn't use but the guy said help yourself to anything you need like cups etc. 

Our room was really nice ! So clean with lots of storage space. Multiple shelves in the bathroom which was so good as most hostels we've stayed in don't even have a soap dish in the shower ! We had towels and soap provided too. The room was cleaned every day while we were out and bedding and towels changed every other day. We had a fan and a big tv with cable. Charging sockets next to the bed too ! And it's in a good location too really close to the beach and restaurants. 

Great hostel would definitely recommend. 

This place was fantastic. We stayed 5 nights, the room was spotless and well decorated. They made our bed everyday and changed the bedding and towels every other day, they emptied the bins everyday as well (something which seems to be lacking in most other places we have stayed).

The TV was great in the room and the shower was very good (there were a few instances where the water wasn't hot but the weather was so warm that a cold shower every now and then wasn't a bad thing).

The communal area is really nice to chill out in. 

We rent the double room. The room was very clean.
We had a good service.
The hostal was quiet. But because it is positioned on the main Street, the taxi and collectivo honks from early in the morning to late in the evening. It is positioned around 10 mins walk from Cruz del Sur or Oltursa bus station.
They serve good breakfast (eggs, bread, coffee, juice, ..)
The main problem we had is the wifi! During the evening, it was very very slow (less that 1Mbps). It took us hours to be able to reserve the hotel for our next destination.
