Hostal Curasi

Nice hotel but the rudest staff I have ever encountered. They will roll their eyes when you ask for a drink, not say hello or anything to you when you walk past them. Everything seems like a massive inconvenience and like you shouldn’t be there

Rudest staff I have ever encountered

The pool area was nice and they loan you pool towels, but that's where the positives end for me. No hand towels or wash rags in the bathrooms.  The bed was very hard and the pillows felt as if they were made from stone. The staff was polite but detached. The breakfast was meager and disappointing: a small bowl of fruit, juice and a hard roll with a piece of lunchmeat. Walls are thin so you hear every little noise from neighbors. Save your money and stay at a nearby hostel.

Checking in was smooth and pleasant. Front desk was friendly...and welcoming. 

Breakfast was not provided.

Price is in the mid range category.

Room was clean but small. Room amenities were okay. Toiletries were sub par....but we always bring along our own for times like these.

There's no air conditioning. I don't get it.....it's really hot here in the desert and they do not have air conditioning. Once again we found it difficult to sleep as we kept waking up in perspiration. Room has a ceiling fan but from past personal experiences we find they're not really good for us....health-wise.

The pool is a huge plus and after a long day out dune buggying and sand boarding we jumped in, stayed in to cool down before heading to our room to  freshen up for dinner. There is a restaurant-like area with a bar but we've not seen them open for business during our stay. Probably it's the timing.

It's a nice enough hotel but we would have preferred if there was air conditioning.

Average stay

Poor infrastructure, pool cleaning, poor care of the hoesped, no empathy for the hoesped, at 5pm close the kitchen and don't sell anything, and don't offer nearby dining options.

Please pay attention.

Although we were able to rest because of our fatigue, this hostel is in need of a major renovation.The bathroom in our room without a bathroom, the super old toilets, the noise level of other rooms unbearable, the old shower and it was scary to get in.The bed should say it pretty well just like breakfast.

Pésimo Hostal.

Lovely hotel in the world’s desert oasis; 143 soles a night accommodation, our room faces the view of the sand dunes. A few steps to the left side is the lagoon, a line of good restaurants, and you can walk up the dunes for a great view esp at sunset. Every where is walking distance at this oasis. Party-sounds can be heard until 1 am or so but at least it’s muffled as the hotel sits a few meters away from a party hotel. Breakfast is included.  They have a pool. The hotel in, and out— looks clean, and well-maintained.

Swift check in with friendly receptionist.
Room basic and a bit dated, and drains did smell (common occurrence throughout Peru !)
Breakfast was a choice of eggs or fruit salad, with bread rolls and jam, juice and coffee. (good breakfast/service)
Pool and communal areas clean.
Reception was happy to store our luggage when we checked out on last day, and helped us book taxi/trips etc.
Exceeded expectation ! 

Very Good Stay

Loved the location, right across the lagoon. Clean and comfortable, wifi and air conditioning, full breakfast included; within walking distance to the dunes, and close to restaurants and artisan shops. Peaceful, contrary to other hostels that have partying all night long.

Very nice hotel right across the oasis

This place is great, you just have to stay here. 

This place has hard working, happy, smiling, conscientious staff. Aaron in particular is brilliant, from the minute we walked in to enquire about room availability over a very busy weekend, we were made to feel welcome and that you could trust what he said (unlike another hotel we enquired at). We ended up staying 4 nights.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, with big showers and plenty of hot water, WiFi, tv and comfortable beds. It’s worth spending a little bit extra for a twin or larger bed. 

Breakfast is simple with a choice of eggs & bread and jam or fruit salad & yogurt, and served on the roof terrace looking at the sand dunes. The swimming pool and sun bathing area is a gorgeous, relaxing place to spend some time. The restaurant/bar is reasonable priced with some great food, looked after by the ever busy Antônio.

The location is perfect, you are right by the lagoon, dunes, bars and restaurants but you also feel away from the hustle and bustle, in the safe, relaxing, bubble that is Curasi hotel. 

What else can I say ....... just stay here.

We got a nice room for two people with a private bathroom for 143 soles (With the Peruhop discount). Bed was comfortable and the hot water worked very well. Breakfast was included. Would recommend this place for those seeking a quieter and more comfortable night in Huacachina.
