I stayed many times in this family run hostal in the past 10 years and it really feels like my home in Cusco.  The family who runs it and the people who work at the hostal are very good people. The hotel is just behind the Coricancha temple in a quite walking street. You can walk flat through 2 beautiful Inca street right to the main square, it´s excellent, and the price is very good.

Stumbled on this place accidentally as it's located on a very quiet walking alley.
Nice airy rooms WITH HEAT (which can be very nice at times in Cusco), very clean, very polite and helpful staff, good breakfast (although it's basic), nice communal area for hanging out, good strong wifi, great location - near to Plaza de Armas but far enough away to be inexpensive.
I agree with some of the comments that it's a bit run down,  but I felt that was only in a cosmetic sense.  Structurally I found it very attractive, I liked the vaulted ceilings and exposed wood.

Great stay in Cusco!

Good Value

This hotel is cute and cosy like a little tree house. A good location walking distance to most of cusco. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. It's a cheap hotel which means you get what you pay for. There are no tvs in the room, which personally I think is better means you have to get out and do something. The bathrooms contain the basic. If your looking for purely a room to sleep in this is the place for you with breakfast an option if your looking for a place to stay in relax enjoy your hotel this hotel probably isn't right

Cheap cosy friendly but basic

The main redeeming factor for this property is location: Close to downtown, restaurants and shopping, short taxi ride to Wanchaq Rail Station, and located on a mostly quiet pedestrian street adjacent to the historic Santo Domingo Convent. A few Soles will get you easily delivered to the airport. (Taxis cost more when arriving at CUZ, presumably because the AA charges a fee.....)
The rooms are basic, but clean, and there is a sunny covered terrace to relax on. It can get quite cool at nights, though. The staff do not speak English, but respond well if you do your best in Castellano. The owner, who is sometimes there in the evening, speaks very good English. Wi Fi works well most of the time, and the breakfast is typical of this grade of property. You can always supplement with stuff you like! Prices very reasonable for Cusco. You can store your luggage (not valubles) at no cost while you go to Machu Picchu.

Nice place, nothing special!

Hostal Pascana is located in the downtown area of Cusco adjacent to the Santa Domingo Convent. It is only a couple of blocks away from the main square and with easy walking distance to restaurants, cafés, shopping and the main city attractions. The location is ideal as it is very central, yet being on a pedestrian-only side street, it is also very quiet

We stayed here twice with our Intrepid Inca Trail Trek tour (GGTA - please see my review for this tour) so as it was already part of the tour package we really didn't have much option. We had previously been staying at 'Casona les Pleiades' for six days which was slightly cheaper than this B&B but much better value. There wasn't anything remarkably wrong with Hostal Pascana, it was just very, very average.

The good: the staff were friendly if not a little quiet and standoffish. They did help us with booking a taxi and storing luggage though. The breakfast was of sufficient quantity but nothing to rave about. Wifi worked OK in the room but was on the slow side. The room was of medium size and the bathroom was clean and looked recently renovated. As previously mentioned the location was great.

The bad: the rooms overlook an internal courtyard so can be noisy if people are sitting and talking, or if staff are setting up for breakfast. The furnishings in the room were dated and it mostly looked built on the cheap. The shower ran out of hot water quite quickly (not what you want after four days trekking without a shower !) and there was the flimsiest curtain ever on the bedroom window which was transparent and let the morning light in meaning an early wake up call.

Overall it was an OK stay but if I hadn't been staying there as part of my Intrepid tour package I wouldn't have chosen to stay there and I probably wouldn't stay again, not for the prices they charge. There are better value options in Cusco, we had just come from one. Most of the other folks in our group elected to stay elsewhere when the Intrepid tour ended. Value for money score 6/10
