It was perfect staying! Beautiful view on a lake, forest and a meadow on which horses graze! The room was clean and cozy. There were sauna and fireplace. In a little kitchen were all necessary curtains, stove, oven, dishwasher and refrigerator. We ordered additionaly a breakfast for 31 euro for 2 adults and child. The breakfast was very good - boiled eggs, ham, salmon, salami, cheeses, pate, vegetables, yogurt, flakes, canned fruits, juice and hot drinks. A bed linen is available for additional fee. Before departure you need to clean your accomodation (with vacuuming carpets and washing bathroom and floors) or pay additionally 80 euro for cleaning.

I booked this as you can easily get the train to Lillehammer from Oslo Lufhaven and then a taxi 12k to Nordseter. Saving on the need to hire a car. Trails are a short walk from the door. You can also eat at the hotel if you want, but we brought our own food as Norway is very expensive. Nordseter is a quiet spot of cabins and a hotel, there is a cafe and shop with ski hire but it's very low key. Perfect if you just want to explore all of the fantastic trails that run for over 200k from Nordseter to Sjusjoen and all around. The Appartment has its own private sauna which was a treat, well equiped and we appreciated the late check out of 2pm on Sunday. No basics in kitchen so you will need to bring everything. I recommend first floor appartments as ground floor is lacking in privacy. Electricity was included.

Quick Cross Country Skiing Weekend

The reception was not always easy to find.The very clean and comfortable apartment made up for it.Everything was there, including a super nice panorama.Super friendly staff.Great area, lots of possibilities.Something outside and above everything but no problem.

Without fault

We were in B7. On the ground floor there is a double room, a bathroom, kitchen and dining room. On the upper floor there is a room with 6 beds. On the top floor there is a beautiful view from the terrace. The kitchen has all the necessary dishes. The parking is near the entrance. There is a small playground for children.

Cozy and equipped apartment

It's a nice place in the middle of nature. Final cleaning to do yourself, it costs about 80 euros to make them do themselves. The baby bed sofa didn't work, but the staff got away with providing a free portable bed.

Nice stay in the cool.

We enjoyed 6 lovely days here in March. It was a perfect base and we found everyone to be very friendly and helpful.

Nordseter is a small place and these apartments are within walking distance of the main ski hire shop & cafe. The reception for the apartments is about 250m up the hill from the apartments towards the ski hire shop - but this isnt much of a problem and you only have to go to reception when you want to check in or out.

You can get to Nordseter easily on the bus from Lillehammer. This runs 4 times a day and only takes 25 minutes. Lillehammer is also very easy to get to from Oslo Gardemoen Airport - it is about 1.75 hours by train and they leave every hour and you dont need to change.

I would suggest you pick up some food supplies in Lillehammer as you come through as the shop in Nordseter is fairly small. You can get all the essentials so you wont starve or go without but if you want a bit more choice it is better to bring things from Lillehammer. You can also use the shop in Susjoen which is about 7km away if you have a car in summer or are skiing there in winter.

The apartment we had was newly renovated and felt very comfortable. It has 2 hobs and an oven but no microwave. There is also a TV there but no DVD player.

We also had some cleaning products available when we arrived and there was kitchen roll and toilet roll so we didnt have to worry about getting this from anywhere. You do have to pay an extra £8 a person for towels and sheets but this seemed worthwhile to us to save having to bring them on the flight from UK.

Our two favourite things about the place were the stunning view out west, and the fact that in the later afternoon the sun comes right in to the apartment. So if you come back from a days skiing in the afternoon then you can sit on the sofa and be warmed by the sun - a great way to finish the day.
Or if the day isnt sunny then there is your own private sauna in the room was well.

You can have buffet dinner in the hotel in the evening if you want for around £30pp and we felt this was good value, and you can also have breakfast there too if you want but we didnt take up this option.
We did use the bread collection option, where we ordered some bread in the evening and then could walk up the following morning and collect it.

In terms of skiing Nordseter is very well located as you can ski in 4 different directions. We are fairly new to cross country skiing, so only go around 5kmph and do 30km in a day. The locals all go much faster than us!
The routes we did and can thoroughly recommend are:
North to Hornsjo and then back via Reinsfjell which is around 25km
South to Susjoen and round the lake. This is the easiest option and is only 20km. We came back over Lukkefjell for some great views but this does mean going up hill
North West to Lienden which is a very cosy hut run by one lady on her own but has great waffles. This is a 30km+ day, but there is a stop about both on the way out and back at Pellestova which breaks the distance up and provides a source of refreshment. Pellestova is a very fancy hotel but does have some nice food
West down to Lillehammer. We took the long route which went via Gaiastova first which meant the day was 30km but it is pretty much all downhill from Gaiastova and is very pretty. If you want a shorter route you can just simply ski down to Lillehammer and get the bus back.

So all in all this is great place for a week or a short break for cross country skiing. There is some downhill at Hafjell but the real joy of this area is cross country.

Fantastic Apartment with Afternoon Sun

We decided to stay here as our stopover from Oslo to Geiranger.  No regrets as it's really a winter retreat from the breathtaking views overlooking our balcony. We took 2 of the Apartment for 6-8 persons and did our own cooking and simply feel at home though we are aware that the linen are charged separately if you wish to have them. If you're driving, lookout for the signage to the reception, as it's quite a distance from the apartment. The staff are pleasant and helpful… no worries.

We stayed together in this wonderful, very spacious apartment (living room with kitchen, bathroom, sauna and double room then upstairs there were 7 other beds!).

fabulous apartment in the vicinity of lillehammer

Check-in is great, good explanations, maximum availability. We were offered an upgrade, no price changes, so in 4 we found ourselves in an apartment with 8 beds, very spacious. Clean and with a beautiful view, nice terrace and very quiet. The apartment has a cooking corner, dishwasher, stuff, TV and Wi-Fi. Clean bathroom, small, with a flatless shower, so that the whole floor is wet. Very nice sauna, but we didn't have time to try it. A classic mountain apartment a little outdated, which is definitely better in winter.

It's a nice place.

We stayed at Nordsetter apartments for two weeks and enjoyed nordic skiing every day. The three bedroom apartment was comfortable and well stocked with kitchen utensils.
The ski trail the led to an extensive network of groomed trails was right across the road! On Easter Sunday we ate a wonderful buffet dinner at the main lodge and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality in Nordsetter.
