I came to have a nice time with my sister who was visiting, and she rented the place. The pictures showed a cozy place but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
I’m not a picky person but I have stayed in better places and for less money. The bedrooms have no windows whatsoever, terrible ventilation (or none at all), it felt like being in a prison. We just couldn’t hang out in the hostel because they don’t even have a lounge area with a window to the outside world, so it’s definitely one of the worst places 8 have ever stayed.
The lights of the bedrooms are from like an office, very cold. I suggest the management that, if they don’t have windows, at least make bedrooms a bit cozier with warm lightining, it would improve the experience. I asked for a bedside lamp (normally those have a warmer light) to have at least a nicer light, and they were all taken, both nights I stayed, I asked for them (no wonder people want those bedside lamps, without windows and cold and “kinda office” ceiling lights, all those lamps were gone; they should’ve had at least one in each bedroom). 
Even though the staff is nice, the premises felt like being in prison, having no idea what time was because there was no conection to the ouside world, not even a lounge area were you can hang out with at least an small window. Nothing.
Unfortunately, because of this, my stay in Wellington wasn’t as nice as I was expecting, I was tired most of the time and I’m pretty sure it was because my sleeping cycle got messed up with a room without windows nor ventilation.

Misleading pictures, feels like a prison

I stayed 3 nights in a single room with a window that opened (a little) to the mostly closed space between the buildings. It was better than nothing because there was no air conditioning.
The paperwork in the room had the costings for everything that's not nailed down if you damage it. My photo shows the damaged blind which I pointed out to reception when I arrived so I wouldn't be billed for it. And the view from the window! 
The bathroom was dirty, one day it wasn't cleaned for 24 hours because the same mess was there the next day. The showers were pre-set to the temperature so you couldn't adjust it to make it hotter or cooler. 
Reception closed in the evening, my 1st night had what sounded like 12 year olds getting drunk for the first time and running along the corridors, don't know if they were guests or not.
Good location close to everything and walking distance to most places. There was a kitchen which got busy but I only went to it to wash my cup.

Average hotel/hostel, good location

This hotel is a good location, i stayed in a room with other 3 girls, it had enough space between bunkers, the kitchen is very clean and has 3 fridges and lockers to keep your food.
I  recommend this hotel.

Nice place

I have heard good things about this hostel, so when I came back to New Zealand I wanted a nice hostel for my first couple of nights. The pictures make the hostel look so clean and tidy yet when you arrive all is not what it seems. 

Check in - basic, didn't explain anything. 

Room - small, dark, cramped. Beds felt like they were about to brake when you climbed to the top bunk. Assigned beds which makes you feel like you are in prison! 

Bathroom - the showers were constantly covered in hair and god knows what. Toilets were just about passable but think there was a plumbing issue as there was a constant smell.

Common areas- laughable. Two small, old, smelly couches facing one another. Kitchen was a mess but that's down to rude guests not clearing away after themselves. Disgusting wouldn't use it. 

WiFi wasn't the best, got a code to cover the amount of days but ran out straight away and no option of getting anymore. 

Definitely thought this was a nice, clean hostel but definitely the complete opposite of the pictures. Completely disappointed at how poorly it was 

Mis led and majorly disappointed

We stayed for one night, and were also misled by photos. We stay in lots of hostels/backpackers and this has to be the worst. Young International students  live here and clearly were not taught to tidy up when they were children. The toilets, shower and kitchen were disgusting, food and rubbish. The cleaner did an excellent job, but within hours it was all dirty again. The elevator button jams.... the list goes on. Staff are helpful, but residents ruin it. Leaks all over the place, and the beds had been broken and repaired roughly.

Great location, but grotty

Very good hotel, very well located, in the centre of Wellington. Close to all day and night attractions. Large room with private shower, clean with a view over Dixon street. Very good reception and very convenient luggage compartment!!! Common kitchen for those who wish.

It's perfect!

Comfortable accommodation right in the middle of town. Good security, friendly staff, well priced and clean. Booked a twin room with my friend which we were very happy with. I recommend this hotel to others as a place to stay.

Comfortable and centrally-situated

I’m not usually a hostel stayer but we needed a bed for the night in order to catch the early ferry to the South Island as part of our honeymoon travels. I know hostels are not always the best so wasn’t expecting something amazing but the photos online suggested a slightly better quality hostel, especially for a price of £40 for a night which wasn’t even an en-suite room. The room was ok in size but had stains on the ceilings and walls. Room furniture was falling apart and the bathrooms were not clean - hair in the showers and old towels on the floor. My husband has stayed in many hostels and says this was one of his worst experiences in one. I would not recommend despite the excellent location within the city. Cannot believe it cost as much as £40 for a night.

Okay I understand you get what you pay for, I'm not fussy, and this was a good price in a great location, but have some pride in the room presentation please !!
For goodness sake spend a few dollars and replace the venetian blinds. They look like they have been in a fight to the death with a pit bull.
On the positive side; the location was great, price low, and the room was spacious, shower okay, kitchen ok, beds ok, and had all the amenities required.
On the negative; those poor venetian blinds, the air con unit with the cover broken and fallen off (the unit works, but is too noisy to run. Basically it's  knackered). Everything is pretty tied but OK.

Place was average level of cleanliness for a hostel. Not the worst or best. Good location in the city with restaurants and park across the street. TV in room with decent channels. Mini fridge in room with teakettle and free tea/coffee. Old spring beds. Bathroom was fine, cleaned at least once during our 3 day stay. Staff was friendly.
