We were two couples who booked this house. At first we were captivated by the beautiful garden and the interior of the house. The rooms which we got were very comfy. Also the breakfast was very delicious and the hosts told us funny story. I recommend the Arapohue House to everyone who visits Bay of Islands. 

Absolutely fabulous !! Bradley and Vivienne are wonderful hosts.
We slept in the cottage, gorgeous !! It was very quiet and relaxing sitting in the garden having a glass of wine.
Bradley and Vivienne suggested we eat at the local RSA, which was fabulous and good vlaue for money. We loved the fact we could just walk to the town.

Thank you Vivian & Bradley for a wonderful 5 night stay at your B&B back in November 2013, I couldn't ask for more, my room was very comfortable, breakfast excellent & they advised me of the best places to visit & booked one of my trips up sailing round the bay of Islands for the day. I arrived as a stranger & left as friends.

We picked Arapohue more or less at random, as we couldn't face attempting to camp in horrific rain, and ended up spending our entire stay in Russell here. Hosts Bradley and Vivian welcome you like members of the family and could not do enough to see we enjoyed our  time in Russell and at their home. Impeccable rooms, (complete with cafetiere coffee, a big plus for me!) beautiful views into their stunning garden and a 90 second walk to the seafront. And as for breakfast - I found myself starting to look forward to the huge breakfast at about lunchtime the previous day! 

A real find and we would not hesitate to return here, whatever the weather.

We stayed here after we decided to extend our week long stay in Russell in the New Year (2014) and the Duke of Marlborough was fully booked.  Am really glad we had to move here as this was a wonderful experience, and only a few minutes walk from the strand.

Bradley and Vivian are lovely, a fine example of kiwi hospitality, Bradley (who pretty much does this full time) loves the craic and a beer.  Their home is a credit to them, and the garden is beautiful, they make you feel very at home and relaxed - it's an easygoing place to stay.  The rooms are a comfortable size and well maintained and serviced.  Bradley's cooked breakfasts are super - just what you need before setting off on a days adventure!  They are both very knowledgeable about the area and have great contacts and advice to give.  (Top tip - contact Stephen Western round the corner for a yacht charter of the bay and the surrounding area, superb day out with one of lifes gentlemen).

I know when we stayed here Bradley and Vivian were talking about giving up the B&B, I hope they find whatever is right for them and enjoy their retirement together, they are two sociable people and it would be a shame to see their B&B cease, however they are two sociable people and I'm sure will have many return visitors from their past, even if it is just for a coffee or a beer!
