The accommodation is in New Brighton. You can walk quickly to the beach and whoever has a carriageway is also quick to the city. The breakfast was sufficient and delicious. The hostess took good care of us and answered all our questions.:) Wlan worked well and parking was available right next to the accommodation. We felt very comfortable and safe here.

Cozy accommodation in New Brighton :)

This place is perfect for getting down to the beach. I stayed with the intention of photographing the pier so it was handy to be so close. 
The shower pressure was extremely weak - I’m not sure if this was just during our stay or whether it is normal. Hopefully it’s not normal!
Friendly, helpful staff and breakfast is included so that makes the price more reasonable. 

Good location

We stayed for one night and that was enough. We have a family of two adults and two children both are young. The children were not in a room next to us but 4 doors down. Took ages to get them settled to sleep. We had booked for a return visit but we cancelled. We where obviously a bit late for brekky as there wasn't much to choose from. All in all very disappointing

Disappointed

We had room 7, a self contained room (had its own shower).
The room was clean and well maintained, the bed linen clean and comfortable.
We found the lodge noisy. The traffic noise, the occasional barking dog and doors opening and closing from the other guests. We didnt sleep too well.
Breakfast was a continental buffet and there was a selection of cereals, toast and tea/coffee.
Brightin beach and the pier is a nice stroll away

Out the way - you definitely need a car to get to Christchurch

Comfortable stay for a night

It's a very nice hotel, five minutes' walk from the Pacific Ocean. It's in an old house, so it's got beautiful interiors, all made of wood, pictures hanging up and figures on the shelves.... Plus: friendly hosts, good breakfast, cozy, quiet, VERY quiet. When you're late at night, curtains are dark, and the silence is such that your ears are ringing. I haven't slept as well as there for a long time.

A cozy hotel in an old house

It's an old convent taken over by two men of extreme kindness. The place is special since you take your little Dej in the old prayer hall but, excuse me for saying My God it's beautiful. The common areas are huge and accessible at any time of day or night. The room is spacious with a sink. The bathroom and toilets are incredibly clean. After all, New Brigthon is a little out of Christchurch and without a car, it's difficult to get there. But if you're a vehicle, it's the place to be.

For the price, it's a gift!

When we arrived we were amazed. it was a large family home, with high ceilings, and full of religious elements. the echo dining room, looks like an old chapel. later we understood when he explained that there were nuns living there years ago. the place was very cozy. we had a large room, with all the necessities, and a fully renovated bathroom. we could use the kitchen and the main dining room with a pool table. the friendly owners. about the location is very far from downtown, but it also doesn't matter because the center is now very ruined, little to see. the hotel is located near the beach and the main pier in Christchurch. highly recommended for those who are passing by. it has free wifi.

Cozy and familiar.

It's a family-run facility with a kitchen and lots of common amenities. Only a few rooms have private amenities. The low prices and the type of accommodation make it suitable for young travelers who are often a little too noisy, but the staff are really very courteous and there's a nice garden to have breakfast or dinner in.
