Binnen aan de Singel

We arrived shortly after 6 pm and the friendly owner Jan showed us the apartment in the basement of his house. It was large and clean. The kitchen had everything one needs for preparing your own meal, but we preferred to eat out. There are so many nice restaurants in Deventer. The alartment has a nice and large bathroom with a shower. A bottle of wine and fruit was complimentary. The only minor point of criticism is that for two males travelling together a second bedroom would be nice, certainly because the only bedroom had a double bed instead of two single beds. There is more than enough space in the living room for a conversion to a second bedroom. Even now in the living room a couch/bed could be converted into an extra bed for a additional charge of €45 (for two nights) and we took that option for a little extra privacy. The rate paid (€230 plus the extra €45 for making the extra bed in the living room) was quite high. A hotel in the centre would be have been cheaper, but the apartment offers far more space than a hotel room. And overall the apartment was value for money.
