Hotel Media Luna

Reviewing the Media Luna is hard because we hate for anyone else to know about it! Best kept secret in Tlaquepaque, bar none. Each room has a theme, the hopitality is superb, and the location is fantastic. Unbelievable value for the money. Josephina is the hostess with the mostess!

I liked the half moon inn. The place was clean and neat, the staff was friendly, and the breakfasts were good. The only thing I disliked was the obvious discomfort the all Mexican guests had when the gringo showed up for breakfast.

This was our third time staying at the Hotel Posada de la Media Luna.  Josefina is terrific, speaks good English and is a wealth of knowledge.  The hotel is well positioned to enjoy the delightful area of Tlaquepaque.  It is about a 20 min. bus ride into the centre of Guadalajara and is also very close to the shopping area of Tonala.  The rooms are simple -- some have windows, some do not -- all arranged around a central open area where breakfast is served in the mornings.   Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was a wonderful fruit plate with toast and coffee.

I stayed here with my wife and her family for two nights. It was excellent. The manager, Josefina, was amazing and spoke impeccable English (arguably better than most Americans). Her son, Abrahm, is a master of carpentry, art, and decor. His vision is splashed throughout the hotel and you'd be remiss to overlook the many amazing details in each of the rooms.

Go into this experience with an open mind and you won't be disappointed. It's not a Hilton and shouldn't have to be. It's well worth the cost. :)

Location, Location, Bargain!

Dirty and not well taken care of.  Photos depicted online are OLD and thus deceiving!  We had reservations and had paid for our stay ahead of time.  Check-in is at 3:00pm.  Because of flight delay we arrived at 9:30pm and were informed that the room would not be ready for another hour.
