We spent a great week in this hotel. It is on a calm place, at some 4 km distance from the sea and 7 km from the hotel's beach. The beach is on a long and sandy seashore with clean, turquoise water. The weather and the sea were still warm in September. Also there is a clean and big pool in the hotel but we preferred the sea. Lido Marini is a small, relatively new settlement. You have to travel some kilometers to see more beautiful places (to Gallipoli or Leuca). The breakfast is not continental, the selection of food is not very rich (toast, croissant, fruit), boring after a couple of days. However the coffee is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would not say the hotel is cheap but you get a value for your money. Good to know: - in southern Italy apperently almost nobody speaks English or other languages, there is only Italian language menu in the restaurants - the half board is very cheap in the hotel but if you only want to have a dinner for one day it is extremely expensive. 23 EUR/day/person. In a restaurant you can get a (pizza) dinner for this price for 2 persons. - there is a very good restaurant with super friendly staff in Lido Marini called Sapori Nosci. It is near the church in the village. - during the one week of our stay there were 2 evenings with live music in the Hotel. This is good from one side, but not if you are tired and would like to sleep.
