My husband and I stayed at Tudor Lodge for two nights last week. Michael our host was very friendly, and informative. The house is perfectly situated to visit West Cork and only a few minutes walk down town. The room was very clean and spacious and very quiet. Breakfast was nice but I would have liked a better selection of breads, homemade bread, scones and filtered coffee would have been nice.

Stay at Tudor Lodge

Stayed here as a last minute find to see friends for the week (who were unable to put us up). The building and rooms were immaculate and very homely, staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming and location was spot on for what we (and I imagine most other tourists) wanted! Great Clon experience!

Very attentive and quaint

this was a great find in a really nice town. newly painted room and graet irish breakfast really set us up for the day. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and wil definitely be returning for the short stroll up from the local pubs and restaurants

outstanding find

We arrived here on motorbikes, on a really rainy day and soaking wet.  

The owner saw our predicament and we were allowed to place our riding gear, gloves, boots, jackets etc in the warm boiler room for the night.  My leather trousers, normally waterproof, were wringing wet so she gave us some newspaper to scrunch up and place inside.  We used it on our boots too and it all worked a treat.  We had not wished to drag wet clothing up her stairs and into our rooms so the offer was especially welcome.

I would not say the room was cosy.  The decor made it feel cold but that is really down to personal taste - too much bottle green for my liking.  There is a guest lounge adjoining the dining room which is a good idea.  The dining room was especially welcoming and had been decorated in a 'country' way.  We enjoyed our breakfast immensely - well present, hot and tasty.

Very helpful, kind owner

We stayed here recently and were very disappointed. The woman of the house was curt, impatient and made us feel like a bit of an inconvenience. It seemed to us that she couldn't wait to get payment and get us out the door. I'm afraid to say I would never go back there.

Not a very Irish welcome!

Great reception, we were given breakfast the next morning when we arrived, which was really good. The room was really nice, very clean, including bathroom. From the window of our room you could see the bay, in 5 minutes walk you can reach the centre of Clonakilty, with restaurants, pubs, bars, shops.
