We stayed there for 8 days and we were suprised with the standard of room and garden with swimmingpool. Very friendly staff & owners. We will come back. The only drawback was the lack of AC in room. When we were there the temp was 33/38 Celsius.

We stayed here for a weekend and found the hotel owners very friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean, and appeared to have new furnishings and new bathroom. There was also a small balcony, with room for two people to sit. The pool looked very clean but we spent our time biking on the nice bike path that circles the lake. We also went on an evening tour in English of the mansion in town. The hotel is conveniently located on a quiet street, with parking available in the hotel garage. The bike rental place was also nearby.  Smoking was not allowed in the room.

My mom and I decided to celebrate our birthdays by biking on the Northern shore of Lake Balaton. City Hotel Eden in Keszthely turned out to be a perfect starting point for our tours. It had a central location just off the main street of Keszthely, rooms were tidy and sizeable, the hotel had a nice garden with a swimming pool for refershing oneself after biking, and breakfast was good. What was most memorable about this hotel, however, was the friendliness of the owning couple. They came with valuable tips, and answered all our questions meticulously. Very good ambassadors for Hungarian tourism!

I assume it's a family run establishment. If not, then they still sure make you feel at home. It was an easy walk to the lake and other sites. Super friendly and warm staff. The woman at the front desk has a name that translated into Mrs. Santa Claus and her constantly joyful disposition made me wonder if Balaton was where she came for a break from the North Pole. Rooms were basic, but clean. Included breakfast was simple, but tasty.

Hotel is in a good location just off the main promenade. The rooms are basic but perfectly adequate.  The air con was good and essential in high summer as it was 35C when we were there.  The pool is lovely and we had a room which overlooked this with a lovely balcony.  Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy.  The only person who spoke English was a girl at breakfast who was very helpful but we managed to communicate regardless. The bed wasn't changed while we were there (5 nights!) but I'm sure they would have done if we had asked. We arrived by train and walked up - maybe a taxi would be a good idea as there were some outside the station though it isn't far without a large bag!  The lido on the lake is lovely especially for children with lots of water activities and a pool and you can hire sun loungers.  Keszthely is a beautiful little town. We found a lovely little bar called Borozo just off the main street opposite Divathaz - really friendly and cheap even though no one spoke any English

We spent a couple of nights there. It's not that close to the strand, but this family-run hotel is quiet, all the rooms are new and people are friendly and helpful. They have a swimming-pool, and a garden. Plus, they are facing a good restaurant (Monarchia). A very good option for those interested of having quiet time.
