Stayed here purely because it was the only place we could park our vehicle securely on a very bumpy site. However some of the deeper holes around the vehicle track were filled with rocks, making it difficult to get the vehicle in and  without causing damage. Cabin floor was filthy, there was a mop but no bucket to clean it. Paid for a larger cabin but was  given a standard cabin. Beds were just foam and very uncomfortable. The only good thing is the shower was hot and a decent size. Reception staff were very polite, but when we tried to get a media device back that we left there, the attitude of the staff was appaling. With a follow up phone call asking when it would be returned, the young lady on the phone just wanted my credit card details and 50 euros to return it! And the phrase ' it may take some time'  to return it was used a lot even thought the post office was 700 metres from the site. We did not cook in the cabin as it was not clean and the red decor and red lamp shades made the place a bit depressing. The pool was nice enough but the whole pool is 1.57 metres deep, no shallow end for children. I thought not very safe. All in all, we won't be going back to Huttopia, we visit france twice a year and Versailles as often as we can. Previously we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria, but trying to cut costs we chose Huttopia. Next time we will swallow the cost and stay at the Waldorf.

Not great.

Amazing place with lovely friendly staff. Loved it here. I had to get a doctor and the staff couldn't be more helpful. It would be great to have wifi all over the camp but this is only a small thing. The place was very well kept, 10 min walk to the train which took half an hour to go to Paris. Accommodation 100%

Amazing place so close to Paris

Really lovely place to stay! We booked five nights here to find some peace after a chaotic few days at Disneyland. We found exactly what we were looking for - comfortable, clean accommodation nestled amongst beautiful trees, lovely bar/terrace area, good size swimming pool, great entertainment on a few evenings of our stay and according to our kids - the best ice lollies in the world available from the bar area. We ordered delicious croissants for breakfast, found a well stocked supermarket just down the road and a really huge one ten minutes drive away. We stayed in a Cabane which was spacious and comfortable. The staff were all so helpful and welcoming. Versailles was only ten minutes drive away and we loved visiting the Chateau - recommend hiring a golf buggy to go around the grounds, that was great fun. We found some great places to eat around the market square in Versailles too. We absolutely loved our visit here and hope to return some day. Thank you Huttopia for another fab holiday!

Really lovely place to stay!

Poor value. We were allocated a pitch the size of a matchbox, which had another camper van parked sideways on it which meant we couldn’t pitch our van and awning.

We were offered another that was slightly larger, which was all dirt and long and thin. They like to squeeze you on! 

Facilities are good but for the money a larger squarer pitch with hard standing is what you would get on similar sites in Brussels or Amsterdam. 

Site staff are super sweet, but won’t be coming back here.

Poor value for money at over €100 a day to stay on a narrow scrap of dirt in the trees

Excellent campsite. We booked a Trappeur tent (could sleep 5 so plenty for 3 of us). Glorious. In woods. Very much an upgraded tent with its own toilet/shower room!!! 
2 weeks whizzed by but just what we needed. An hour from Disney parks, 40mins from centre of Paris, train station nearby took you straight there. Versailles on your doorstep and also close enough to visit Giverny (Monet’s waterlilies). Book everything in advance. 
Site was excellent. Walks in nature, near a sports park, own pool and decking area, breakfast croissants and bread could be ordered for the next day and a pizza oven for an evening treat. They also had a great email/ reception team, nothing was too much trouble. An EV car charger which was easy to use and when I found out the Kids activities were “painting in the style of Chagall” I was completely bowled over. Hooray for Huttopia

Wow wee! Huttopia you spoilt us!

This is an excellent quality campsite.  Facilities are excellent and very clean.  Staff are super friendly and helpful. Location is perfect for Versailles Chateau and Paris.  National forest park next to the site so great walks for dogs. Only downside was towing the caravan through a residential area with parked cars and one way streets, however, roads aren’t busy and are passable with a bit of care.

Excellent campsite

If you have an expensive motorhome and believe the blurb on the Huttopia campsite website, then stop before you make a mistake.  The company (at this site) do not have a clue about the requirements of a motorhomer and making them feel comfortable. The facilities are perfect for school children who want to go camping and semi-rough-it.  But not if you have spent a fortune on a quality motorhome and are used to staying at campsites who understand the requirements of motorhomers.  The pitches are overly uneven, even a set of levelling ramps couldn’t get near to making the level comfortable, my motorhome felt like a child’s fun house inside!  The sanitary facilities although fairly modern were ill thought-out for a grown up person.  Perfect for children who do not know any better, but when you are used to ‘normal’ campsites, particularly at the prices they are charging, it is a joke.  We left after two nights, forgoing the third night that we had paid for as it was that bad.  The only two redeeming features were the friendly staff, and the locality in regards to Versailles.  We would definitely not stay again .

POSITIVES

Location - 5 mins from a €2 bus ride to the palace of Versailles.  25mins on train into Paris.

Security - I like urban sites having security code barrier entrances and and exists for vehicles (& pedestrians at night).

Friendly, helpful staff - if a little out of their depth.

Pool & table tennis - although pool is not heated and was the coldest we experienced on our holiday so were only in it for about 10 mins.

NEGATIVES:

This is run like a municipal site and, other than the pool, is not what you expect from a Huttopia site!!  I would go as far as saying their marketing / images of this site are misleading.  It is not a beautiful idillic green site but is instead small, dusty, crammed in pitches with uneven ground & tree branches restricting pitching/parking.   

I can to some extent accept the above as it is a city site & you’re likely not visiting to enjoy the view but at over €60/night mid-season (€80 for a family of 4 in high season), it may well be on the suburbs of Paris but I still require acceptable camping facilities for my money.

Appallingly maintenance.  I know we were at the end of the season but, loose planks on the steps into the toilets.  Our pitch had a broken picnic bench with the sharp end of a nail sticking up.  Broken ‘barriers’ delineating the pitches meant there were broken bits of wood everywhere.  Each time I went into reception there seemed to be someone complaining about something.

Despite a full campsite, 1 whole toilet block was closed on 1st Sept - I guess they suddenly moved to low season - so long queues for the shower that morning.

Hot water system needs a revamp it either had something wrong with it or couldn’t cope with the numbers as you could either have a high pressure cold shower or dribble of a hot shower.

You’re paying for the location not an idillic campsite…

We stayed in the Versailles Huttopia site on the penultimate night of our 18 night, 12 campsite tour of France. 

This site was chosen primarily for it's proximity to Versailles Palace, which was a lovely short cycle ride in the morning. 

The toilet facilities on the campsite were adequate, with some quirky layouts, for examples open air Urinals in view of the pitches and some communal showers. The pitch was relatively small on a slope which took some negotiating in our 7.5m motorhome. 

There were a distinctive lack of water facilities. After walking the site in search of water tapes I asked at reception to find a shocked response, ' yes there is a tape it is by the grey waste at the bottom of the site'. 1 water tape for the size of campsite is poor in my opinion. Not helped by its location on the far side of the campsite with the grey and toilet waste facilities.  Having to use the same hose to fill drinking water tanks as people are using to clean their toilets is not ideal. The tape for the toilets was not working and I witness people putting the drinking water hose into their portable toilet facilities to clean them.

The swimming pool was of amble size, but colder than any other visited while on our trip of France. This may explain why it was relatively quiet and those who did enter, like ourselves, only remained in the pool for a short period of time.

During our trip in France we stayed in 3 Huttopia sites. They were all clean and good campsites with a range of facilities and generally in excellent locations. However in my opinion their cost in comparison to other sites was not justified. This is largely due to the 20 euro booking fee which caught us out at the end of the process.  We had carefully planned out our 18 night trip, spending hours looking for appropriate campsites for our 12 stops. So when we came to book all the locations we didn't have the energy to research further sites when we found there were hidden costs with Huttopia. As first time France campers we will know for next time. Not sure I would recommend Huttopia for a single night stay, Aires would be a better option.

1 Night stopover on 18 nigh tour of France

It was very steep and the disposal for the women was difficult to reach. Yes, not from below but from above, there is a very large section from below up that makes it impossible to drive up. The road was very narrow. We arrived on a Saturday and right next to the campsite there was a football field. The square in front of the campsite was crowded and it was difficult to get there with a large mobile home. A man had to drive back out so we came to the campsite. He had the nerve to drive into another car right away.
