I find other guests' reviews of this hotel to be grossly unfair. First of all, FUNNILY ENOUGH, if you're on a 1* budget, you won't get a 5* room! I'm not sure why people pay as little as they possibly can for accommodation and proceed to act like they're entitled to a presidential suite. Secondly, this is Paris. It's clearly a lot of people's first time here as anyone who knows the city also knows that its older buildings are narrow and tall, meaning that there is physically no space for lifts to be installed and that most rooms will also be on the smaller side. I noticed that hotel staff took no issue with guests who were unable to carry their cases up the stairs leaving them at reception, which is manned 24/7, so what is everyone complaining about exactly? Re the breakfast, there was nothing wrong with it. Coffee, croissant and tartine with jam is a typical French breakfast. That might seem "meagre" to people coming from other countries like the UK where fry ups are commonly served in hotels, but that's what people have in France and is what you'd be served anywhere else. A sign in the breakfast room states you are able to have more food for 1 euro if you ask. Personally, I found the hotel to be very clean, great value for money given its location and the staff to be exceptionally helpful, friendly and accommodating.
