My husband and I flew in and out of Lijiang for our holiday, and stayed at the Moon Inn for both our arrival and departure times.  Eric was very accommodating and friendly, the rooms were clean and the bathrooms featured hot water showers.  A few nights it was so cold in Lijiang that it snowed, but Eric put a space heater in our room as well as providing an electric blanket/pad so we were quite comfortable.

We would definitely recommend Moon Inn for its location, price, cleanliness and helpful staff (Eric helped us arrange airport pickup as well as drop off).  Plus, the guesthouse dog Dudu was super friendly and cute!

Great Choice in Lijiang

This is a family run hotel  with very high standards. Eric and all of his family we meet made us feel very welcome. Eric with his traditional chinese tea making and his sister with the fantastic breakfast served in the court yard. Rooms very pleasant and comfortable in pleasant surroundings very good internet service. Would use this hotel again when visiting Lijiang which is a very pretty place.

Very Nice hotel in old town

The Moon Inn is a well placed guest house in the middle of the Lijiang old town. It is not easy to find (initially) by yourself - so suggest you are me at one of the entrances to the old town. The guest house is just a few hundred metres from the busy and noisy main square so is ideally located. The rooms surround a quiet centre courtyard which is a pleasant place to spend some time with friends. The rooms are comfortable, warm and well lit. The bathrooms are typical for Yunnan guest houses with shower onto the bathroom floor next to the toilet. The water was hot with no smells (as reported by other reviews). The service was good when present but at times there were no staff anywhere to be seen. Wifi is good and free. A good choice in Lijiang

An oasis in busy Lijiang town

Located on a bend on a street within old Lijiang, Moon In is close enough to the main attractions, but in a quieter area. Steps were required to get up to the hotel and the gate is closed late at night. Room on the second floor was large enough, but carpeting was in need of a changing.

Quiet hotel in traditional styled building, located right in old Lijiang

Quite hard to find and we got lost on arrival and so the poor manager had to try and find us at 10pm. He didn't seem too pleased, but we can't blame him for that! The hotel itself is cute, with a charming courtyard and lovely wood rooms with ornate lattice windows. Bathrooms are slightly basic but that's acceptable for the price. My main concern was that room always seemed a bit damp and thus cold, although hotel did provide heavy duvets to compensate. This may be a common problem across Lijang in September, so do pack your pyjamas. Also beds are like sleeping on boards but again that's across Yunnan!
Manager speaks good English and was very friendly, often serving up tea and chatting in the courtyard. Do try his special tea but give breakfast a miss as its cheaper (and likely healthier) to look outside.
