Meander Tree Theme Resort

The hotel is situated about 25 minutes walk from the Su Causeway of the west lake, in a very green, country side surrounding .It is up a fairly steep slope and the taxi driver would not take us to the hotel door steps so we had to wheel our bags up hill and down hill. Be warned. The out door areas of the hotel are very nice:the tea tree terrace, the gardens, the little ponds, the terrace dinning area etc. We often sat with a cup of tea and watched the tea pickers going about their work, and the food was not bad too. The first room we had was on the ground floor of building 5. The next door hostel's BBQ grill was right next to our window and the smell and the noise was overwhelming. The doors of the shower cubicle did not meet and hence water flooded the bathroom. We asked to change rooms the next day. The second room was better but we kept bumped into the ceiling light fixtures.The staff service was good, nothing was too much trouble for them. They tried very hard to accommodate. All in all, it was not bad but it would been better if we did not went to the ground floor room first and more importantly, took their website pictures with a pinch of salt. I wouldn't go as far as misleading but those pictures were definitely taken with heavily tinted rose lenses.
