Auberge Chez Caro

We stayed at Caro's place for two nights and ended up extending our stay to one extra night because it was such a great value, especially compared to some of the other places we stayed in along the way to Tadoussac. Sacre-coeur is about 10 minutes away from Tadoussac, but I think it is a better place to stay because it is less touristy. We booked the 2 twin beds because my wife and I have a difficulty sleeping on a double bed because we are accustomed to sleeping on a much larger King bed. Above where we stayed there was a living area with comfortable couches where you could sit and read a book or just relax. Caro's place appears to have been a house that has been converted to an inn. She has, nonetheless, done a great job of making it inviting and professional. I think the best rooms are in the adjoining unit in the basement because it is nice and cool down there (it can get hot in Quebec during the summer). But all of the rooms are nice and I believe there is A/C in all units. Caro has new air conditioner units that kept the place cool, but being in the basement is always nice in my opinion. We also booked a room with a private bathroom connected to our room. The shower was a bit smaller than we are accustomed to, but the refrigerator and freezer outside of our room helped us stay within our budget since we could purchase food from the grocery store and eat it. Overall, the rooms were clean, cool, quiet, and comfortable. Caro and her family are extremely generous and they were always willing to bend over backwards to make our stay a pleasant one. We enjoyed our stay at Caro's place and would definitely return.
