Guest House "Momchil"

Guest house Momchil was a great place to chill. A wonderfully clean apartment with good beds and duvet bed covers. The place was warm, the shower clean and new, the kitchen well equipped. It even had a great espresso machine, an oven and a microwave oven. A lovely spacious apartment with a flat screen TV in both the bedrooms and a regular one in the kitchen. It had a driveway with a gate for a rental car. When we arrived we were welcomed by the son of the owner. He gave me his phone number so we could send him text message if we needed any help. This was a great non invasive way to get the help we needed. I texted him for taxi's and they would show up within minutes each time. Taxi's don't cost much in Bulgaria either. So it's a great way to get around. Bulgaria itself, was a nice surprise. Don't let appearances fool you, from the outside the outskirts of the city look old with former-iron curtain Russian flat buildings without paint. Once you enter most houses and shops you will see a modern European lifestyle and will encounter friendly people. Many of them speak English, so no problem there either. The inner city is worth a visit with its beautiful cathedrals and the huge new malls are a must see as well, every imaginable shop can be found there. Vitoshia mountain was a great place to learn how to ski, and the view over the city from the cable lift just incredible on a sunny day. The ski resort Borovets (75 km further up) was an amazing place too, but a lot busier with a lot more tourism. We were very lucky, there was lots of snow everywhere we went. This is not always the case in February we were told. We had an awesome time, perfect for first time skiing. A city trip annex skiing holiday, does it get any better?
