Haus Strafinger

First visit to St Anton & stayed at the wonderful Haus Strafinger. Lovely welcome from Renate & her husband. Both speak excellent English. You can park your car right outside & the apartment is very easy to find. Fresh bread rolls & croissants can be delivered daily. Supermarket is about a 10 min walk away. There is also a pizza takeaway quite close by & the Keller Bar nearby is good fun too. We had the studio for 2 which was a spotless, spacious, well equipped modern apartment. Warm room with comfortable twin beds plus a great kitchen area with a full oven & hob, dishwasher & fridge. Plenty of utensils, pans & proper knives should you wish to cook. The best bit was there was loads of storage space - a big wardrobe, large cupboard, chest of drawers, etc & plenty of shelves to put helmets, etc onto to dry out overnight. It all felt really well though out. Nice bathroom with a good shower. Towels are changed midweek. The boot room is next door to the studio which is handy & you can exit the apartment out the back of the building & ski across a field to the bottom of the Nassareinbahn (lift passes can be bought there). We had such a good week & hope to visit again next year as a good bit of the mountain was closed for part of the week we were there as there was so much snow & we felt we didn’t see it all. We flew to Memmingen which would also highly recommend. Bags off the plane in minutes, no car hire queue, & an easy drive to St Anton with very little traffic & no delays. We also visited Memmingen itself on the way back as we had a couple of hours to kill. It’s a beautiful walled town with some interesting historical walks that you can follow via signboards dotted about. People there were very friendly too. Definitely plan to return to Haus Strafinger & St Anton. Thank you to Renate for having us :-) such a fabulous week!
