An outstanding stay. The apartment was spacious, very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The working farm and it's neighbours are right outside the door and the various animals a delight and most love attention from visitors.The Berger family were very friendly and helpful and can supply some local produce on request. Dorfgastein with its local shops (including Spar supermarkets) and restaurants are ten minutes walk across the fields. The cable car up to Fulseck mountain (discount with the Gastein Card supplied by the Torbauer after registering) is well worth it, especially if brave souls are paragliding from the summit. There is a cafe at the top and plenty of walks around or back down. A little further along the valley is the smart spa resort of Bad Hofgastein which we found more to our liking than the larger Bad Gastein. A car is useful to get around although there is a valley bus service. The railway station at Dorfgastein is a good twenty minute walk away. There are 115+ km of hiking trials in the immediate area, the mountain scenery superb.
