My wife and I visited McLaren Vale overnight en route to Adelaide to sample some of the region's famed wineries. We were very pleasantly surprised with our experience in this well run hostel. We had originally booked a four bed dorm, however we were given a private double room, with no additional charge, when we asked about this on arrival. We were also provided with washing powder free of charge from the friendly and laid back staff. Our room was small but functional. The hostel is extremely well located, only a few hundred metres from the Shiraz Trail, with many wineries within walking distance. Supermarket just around the corner, and there is a very large kitchen to cook in with plenty of space. It should be called out this is a backpackers with some longer term guests who are working in the region, which didn't bother us at all but worth being aware of before booking. We would recommend this place to others travelling on a budget in the region.
