I've been staying here for about 10 years, seasonally for my job, 4-5 weeks at a time. You can't beat the price, 1200 a month for a small apartment, room service, breakfast. While the place may be old, it is well kept and clean.

a decent place, a great value

When I walked into the room, the first thing I saw was a disassembled bed leaning up against the wall, then a pile of dirt on the floor by the door and worn furniture that looked from the 60's. Luckily, I got my money back. Stay away from this place!

Stay Way!!!

O.K. this is not the Sheraton, but I've stayed in a Sheraton for six times the price with less than half the amenities. the walls and floors have been redone, but the furnishings are still dated however functional. There is free WiFi, a free hot breakfast, friendly host, free refrigerator, free microwave ,air conditioner with ceiling fan,laundry ,and a pool, The $ value is why I give it a good rating, however it is an older motel and it shows.

A lot for the price

Ok where to start, well let me say Tina is a gem. She knows how to run the front desk. The first room she sent us to TV signal did not work, so we moved to another room. Now I want to remind you that your in California and there are a lot of characters and I'm not talking Mickey, Minnie and the Princess's. No matter where you go in Cali they are everywhere rich areas, poor areas. Now the hotel is old been there 50 years. The rooms are ceramic tile floors, was happy it was not 50 year old carpet. The room was clean, I do believe that they should have housekeeping freshen up the rooms once a week, to knock the dust away. Rooms have new paint. Need updated decor. Have flat screen TV. And Tina said the just changed to a cable company that offered more channels and still working out the bugs in the system. If you are looking for budget you get it here. But why grip if you want a 5* then pay for it. I know there are places up the road 150 bucks a night. Thanks Tina for the warm welcome and smile.

Give Them a Break

Heard that Brunner's had remodeled their rooms and called in to book one night.  I specifically asked the front desk clerk about the remodel and was told that all the rooms had been remodeled with new furniture etc. Upon check in we were given a room that was in very poor condition. There were stains on the thin bed covering, cockroaches in the bathroom, and there weren't even any curtains in the room. The front desk agent was apologetic and very friendly. He found another room for us and while this room was better than the room before it still did not appear remodeled. Honestly the only thing that looked new to the room were the two pictures on the wall. The counter top in the kitchenette was dirty and had hairs on it. the floors were not mopped because when I got out of the shower and used a towel to dry up the water the towel instantly got dirty. We also went to the pool and the pool furniture was so dirty that when we got out of the pool and wrapped the towels around us the towels became dirty after sitting on the chairs. You have to be careful when sitting on the beds as they are no secure and roll all over the place, and do not plan on using the WiFi because it's so incredible slow there's no point in even trying to access it. I literally decided to cut my losses and just go to sleep so that I can get out of this place asap in the morning. So what do I get when I check out? I am told that I have to wait for them to "check the room" which I have never had to do but then again I have never stayed at this low level of a hotel. When they complete the check I am accused of "cleaning my car" with their white towels and they tried to charge me for them. I was floored! I explained that the towels were dirtied by their disgustingly dirty pool area. I was then told that no this was grease from cleaning my car. Luckily a nice guy behind the desk wet the towel and could tell that it was just dirt and it could be washed out. I was then told that lots of people steal their towels and use them to clean their cars. I guess I can see what type of guests they are accustomed to having here and they are not guests of quality. Not only did I have to endure the worst accommodations and filth I am then accused of using their towels to clean my car so they can take my deposit. Overall this place IS NOT REMODELED and doesn't look like its been upgraded for at least 30 years. The "breakfast" is a joke at best....its more like breakfast appetizers. The serve packaged mini cinnamon rolls, and other small breakfast pastries. They also have coffee and I think some juice but we just opted out. During the summer I often wil stay at Best Western John Jay Inn and it is a much better stay for only about 10 bucks more...too bad they were sold out on the day I needed to stay. I could have saved myself from such a bad experience.
