Duke's 8th Avenue Hotel

Due to its locality of just 0.5 miles (0.8 km) from downtown where Egan Convention and the Visitor Information Center are located in which majority of the shuttle out of Anchorage or tours within the city pickup and drop-offs points. Even the local bus main terminal, People Mover is just 0.2 miles (0.35 km) away. I stayed in an one-room apartment that comes with a living cum dining area and a kitchen. The unit was clean and would be good in particular for those on a couple of nights stay and needed to be near the transportation hubs besides easy access to downtown. Great restaurants are also aplenty in the vicinity despite not having any food outlets on its premises. 3-pointers for consideration - the rooms are not air-conditioned given the mild summer in Alaska and neither does it has elevator accessed within its 4-floors besides no 24-hours reception but there is always a number to contact if assistance is needed. My only challenge was a late checked-in with the office closed and I had to lugged my almost 44lbs (20kg) up to my room on the 4th floor despite asking for a lower floor room after making the reservation in which I was told that I will be allocated a room on the 2nd floor. I know I can call for assistance but bearing in mind, some international cell lines would not have any service in Alaska!
