Our host Gary was one of the best!  A beautiful little b & b. So clean and thoughtful down to every little detail. Toiletries, towels, tea and coffee. Breakfast included, which was freshly cooked to your choice. Fabulous experience. Well done Garry👍

We have just had a lovely stay at the Dolphin guest house. 
Gary was very friendly and welcoming and has a great knowledge of Scarborough and the surrounding towns which he was happy to share with us. 
Our room was comfortable and clean with an excellent shower. Lots of drawer and wardrobe space. Bedside  lamps etc. 
The room was serviced daily with towels replaced. Toiletries and tea and coffee were replenished too. 
The dining room is bright and airy. Your delicious breakfast is served on beautiful crockery and is piping hot. 
There’s a superb fish and chip shop called North Bay Fisheries just a two minute walk from the Dolphin. 
It’s open 4-7.30 daily and lots of people got fish and chips and crossed the road to eat them in the beautiful Peasholme Park. 
That entrance to the park is also just a two minute walk away from the Dolphin. 
We got a parking spot on arrival which was right outside the guest house and Gary gave us a pass for the length of our stay. 
The open top bus service runs frequently around the headland to South Bay. 
We got a bus to Whitby which took an hour and cost £3 each way for me and was free for my husband with his bus pass. 
The train station is a 15 minute walk away so we had a 40 minute train ride and a mooch round Bridlington for a total cost of £13.60 ( no concessions)
There were two other couples at the Dolphin who said they always stay with Gary when they come to Scarborough - which is exactly what we will do.

Me and my wife stayed here for 3 nights. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. All amenities were a short walk away. Gary is a great host who was helpful and has good knowledge of the area we wouldn’t hesitate staying here again.

Just returned from a weekend in Scarborough staying at The Dolphin guest house. This is such a great place, great location for Peasholme park, Open Air Theatre and North bay, great facilities, great breakfast -gluten free and vegetarian catered for and great host - Gary is the best, always has time for you and his knowledge of the area is brilliant, thank you for a lovely stay.

3rd time we have stayed and never disappointed us, Great host and a lovely stay

We stayed at the Dolphin Guesthouse for two nights over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Gary was so welcoming and friendly. He provided us a permit so we could park outside the guesthouse. Our room was clean, tidy and had everything we could need. We had cereals, toast and a cooked breakfast both mornings. We recommend this guesthouse to anybody planning a stay in Scarborough!

We’ve just had a 2 night stay at The Dolphin and everything was excellent. The rooms were spotless, the beds were comfy and the breakfast was delicious, not forgetting Gary who was a brilliant host. We parked outside the B&B and everywhere was within easy walking distance. We will definitely be going back.

A truly lovely stay in North Scarborough

If you’re looking for a stay in Scarborough look no further than The Dolphin guesthouse

I unreservedly recommend the Dolphin to anyone for a stay in Scarborough. 
The facilities are immaculately clean and comfortable with plenty of choice for a tasty breakfast. Gary is a great host, very welcoming and ready to help with knowledge/suggestions regarding the local and wider area. 
I would make the Dolphin my first choice should I visit Scarborough in the future.

We chose this hotel based on previous reviews and it certainly lived up to expectations. The host, Gary, was very friendly and helpful, giving information about where to go and directions, etc. It was my birthday while we were there and he gave me a lovely card, an unexpected surprise. The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. It had everything we needed and plenty of electric points, something often lacking. Breakfast was amazing, cooked to order, delicious, fresh and hot, served on heated plates. After the first morning we had to ask for smaller portions as it was far too much for us!It is next to the beautiful Peasholm Park and you can walk into the town area in 10 minutes. If, like me, you’re not as fit and healthy as you’d wish, there is an open-topped bus that runs every few minutes from the park to the Scarborough Spa and back, for a reasonable price. Thank you for a lovely stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

When we arrived at the Dolphin, Gary greeted us and was very welcoming.  He provided my husband with a parking permit to park outside in the little layby. We stayed in Room3 the bedroom was cleaned to a very high standard, the bed comfortable and the wardrobe had plenty of hangers.  The en-suite bathroom was also spotless the shower was the best I have ever used away from home and Gary also provided complimentary toiletries which where very good quality.
Breakfast was a choice of cereals followed by a superb cooked breakfast.  Toast was excellent, there was also a choice of tea or coffee and a selection of fruit juices.
Once again thanks Gary for being a superb host.

We arrived on 9th September for a three night stay, having visited for the same duration in February.
Gary was as welcoming as ever and the room, breakfast and comfort were top drawer, as before.
Nothing more to say, except that we will be returning in the not too distant future.

Another exceptional stay

We have just got back from a wonderful Stay at The Dolphin  Guesthouse in Scarborough .  Gary is a wonderful host, and his long experience in hospitality definitely shows in his attention to detail. The room was extremely comfy, plenty of space for storage.

 All your needs are also catered for with free toiletries and coffee and tea making  facilities and there is a delicious breakfast with thick toast and cereals  to look forward to each day. 

There are even touches like a little chocolate mint left in your room upon servicing. 

Gary was friendly and approachable and had good knowledge of the many wonderful sights to see in Scarborough, and because of this we were able to make the most of our 3 day trip.

We will be returning !

Absolutely fantastic place Spotless clean and the host couldn't do enough Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were ample will return next time we are in Scarborough a real gem of a place There is parking outside the hotel which you obtain a parking permit free of charge from the hotel. Lots of places to visit close by
