My husband and I went for my birthday lunch and the meal did not disappoint . I had Nduja lentils with cod and deep fried kale , cauliflower and my husband had the chuck steak burger . My cod was the best cod meal I have ever eaten , so full of flavour and cod very very fresh , hubby said his burger was amazing . Staff very helpful , lovely atmosphere

Birthday meal

A brilliant supper for 6 of us last night, thanks so much ma dears!  The sharing fish platter was a great starter for four us us with the pork terrine for the others, the miso cod is just so scrumptious (maybe as a main?)
For mains we had skate and pork and cod on nudja dahl and two most excellent steaks cooked rare and wonderful!
The bitter was in excellent condition and a couple bottles of merlot kept us well imbibed.
The service as ever is calm, friendly and un-flustered - thanks so much!!

Another excellent meal at The Hart

Fabulous Sunday lunch! Friendly staff, delicious lunch. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. So much better than I remember pre pandemic. Although on the A12 it’s not noisy and there are great walks locally. I will definitely be returning soon.
 (I wish I could have put this review on the pubs own website instead of the long winded trip advisor website).

Fabulous lunch!

Very relaxing overnight stay in a beautiful old building.  Village in a handy location for the coast . Really friendly and professional service from all staff .  Seems a great team that has been assembled here .  Food was consistently well thought out , tasty and comforting,  for dinner and breakfast  .   Rooms clean with great views ( stayed in room 3 ) .  Loved it .  Will be back !

Amazing night away to relax

It was the first time we had stayed overnight somewhere with our service dog, Athena. She was made to feel as welcome as we were (extremely welcome). Lovely pub, good selection of Adnams stock, great menu and excellent food. Our room for the night had a stuning view of the Blyth Estuary. A perfect place to stay with dogs. Service dogs stay free, otherwise a £10 charge per night. The room (number 4) was spacious with an enterance hall that was tiled. A surprisingly spacious bathroom. A comfy double bed. Clean and equiped with everthing needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were excellent, friendly and professional. They genuinely seemed to love having a pub full of dogs.

Definitely an amazing place to eat, drink and stay.

Came up to visit Southwold and Walberswick for my husbands birthday as we always used to holiday up here with the family. We couldn't find anywhere we liked in Southwold so we booked the White Hart. So pleased we did- we will be back. Helpful friendly staff.   Pub has lovely atmosphere.  Excellent room-quiet clean and loved the little extras of biscuits etc in the room. Stunning views. Great food especially the seafood platter. So lovely .  Wonderful breakfast- wish we could have stayed longer. Discovered Adnams Blackshore (now preferred as my husband's favourite which was Guiness). One little niggle were the mosquitos in the restaurant (maybe a fly screen on the main door?) The staff were so understanding and moved us to another table.  My husband is a mosquito magnet-but he didn't get bitten so all is well!! Seriously looking see to when we could book again.

A birthday treat-couldn't be beat

Lovely comfortable room with a fabulous view of the river. Extremely clean and well presented.
Great food, friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely walk along the river from the garden, lots of bird life. Perfect as a base for visits to Dunwich, Walberswick, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Minsmere. 
We will definitely be back.

Fabulous

We used to come annually to this place but this year it has changed hands and it simply isn't the same as it was. It used to be a cheery place with character, when we visited all the atmosphere was gone. The menu is not as expensive as it was which is fine for some but we were not willing to pay for the steak. We left without eating sadly. I am sure it is a lovely place but under new management  it was not the same for us and so we won't be returning. 

Not the warm welcome we were used to. 

Might be the best place on earth but hard to tell. The place was not conspicuously over run but on enquiring about food we were met with " we're not taking walk-ins". No indication of this until you ask. 

Unhelpful 

Had lunch - sea food platter. Without doubt one of the nicest meals we’ve ever had with super friendly staff! We will definitely be returning. Dog friendly too! I believe there are new owners so definitely worth checking out what they’ve done.
