We stayed in the Orchid Treehouse the week before Christmas with the 5 of us, three adults two kids. The lodge is superb. Stunning views and super spacious. The hot tub is amazing and it’s a real break away from the rat race of life. The lodge has everything including a smart tv. 
Would return in a heart beat, so looking at dates now! Brilliant

A Christmas Break away in an amazing treehouse lodge

My partner and I spent 4 nights in willow lodge with the pup. I'll bullet point for easy reading 
•The lodge was warm and comfortable
•Great layout and the kitchen was well equipped
•Nice woodland dog walks on site
•Decent hot tub with a great view..also very private
•Great location...tesco/town centre only a few miles away
•The lady on reception was lovely and welcoming 
•No parking outside your lodge but the car park is seconds away
•lovely grounds



Willow lodge...perfect!

Lovely stay with friends for my birthday. Easy to find and good journey from Manchester. Very peaceful place to stay and chill. Lodge and hot tub excellent. Good value for money. We stayed in Bluebell Tree House and there were 4 of us. WWE had a great time and have already booked for next year

Beautiful area and lovely treehouse

We stayed at Willow lodge. Cleanliness was ok. Beds were comfy and clean. Lighting was very poor , except the kitchen area. Heater in bathroom didn't work. Tub was the best experience. No safety bath mat was provided for shower ( we had to buy one), as shower floor was lethal and dangerous. No curtain/blind on back door. The maintenance man came three times with leaf blower, which was annoying and very noisy.
 

Willow Lodge

Generally very good - bedding was comfortable and clean, the heaters in the lodge worked well as did all of the kitchen appliances and bathroom facilities. The outside seating area could have done with a good clean as there were cobwebs everywhere and has looks like it hasn't been brushed down for some time. The hot tub was nice and private and overall we had a great weekend. Very likely to return.

Peaceful and relaxing.

Just returned from our third visit (the second this year) and as always we had such a beautifully peaceful break.

We discovered this place last year when my sister booked the Willow lodge and invited myself and my best friend as we have birthdays just a week apart, for a peaceful birthday getaway.  It was an amazing stay.  We returned later in the year in the late autumn and booked the Birch lodge.  Again it was an amazing break, the peace and quiet only disturbed the the acorns falling from the trees and machine gunning the roof, but that's mother nature for you.

The treehouses were just under construction then and when we returned this year to the Birch lodge, again to celebrate our birthdays, we had the chance to take a look at them.  They look amazing, but are just out of our price range, but hopefully one day.

We're booked to go back again in March, and hopefully again in late May.

If you hadn't guessed, we adore the place.

Be prepared to travel, however, as there is nothing within reach.  The first visit we did walk to Ellesmere and back, but ever step of the return walk we were cursing ourselves for not using the car, so be warned.

Ellesmere is a great little place, most of the shops and inns are dog friendly and there are two amazing charity shops there (another passion of mine).  Llangollen is a short drive away too.  And if you want a good dining experience, I can heartily recommend the Red Lion in Ellesmere who made me and my friends (and dog) so welcome; and for a more expensive but amazing Inn if you want a special evening meal, I recommend you check out The Boat at Erbistock.

A great peaceful location and amazing lodges.

Just got back from spending 4 nights here. The lodge is very spacious and cosy at the same time. It had 3 decent sized bedrooms which were 2 doubles and 1 twin. Our lodge came with a hot tub that was already filled and heated on arrival and also had the benefit of having a gazebo over it. The kitchen had very good appliances which included a cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and a very good fridge freezer that kept my beers ice cold. The receptionist was very friendly and gave us some useful information. If you like being in the middle of nowhere then you will love this place however for us it was a little too far out from anything else. The main town is only a ten minute drive away but to be honest there isn't really much there that we seen. The sofa in the lodge is very comfortable and we enjoyed having one each to sprawl out on. The beds on the other hand are not very comfortable and the pillows are way too soft. We didn't really get one good night's sleep due to what appears to be a farm close by. The noise from the machinery had me up every morning from around 3-4am and we could also hear a noise coming from the hot tub. Would we stay here again, maybe for 2 nights with a larger group but would not want to stay any longer than that

Birch lodge

We have just returned after staying in Sycamore Lodge.  The lodge was much bigger than expected, warm and plenty of utensils in the kitchen.  The main bedroom was a good size with plenty of storage and ensuite, the second bedroom had a double bed with ensuite but the only storage were the bedside tables which was disappointing, the room didn't have anywhere to add any storage at floor level but could of done with wall shelves for somewhere to put clothes, the third bedroom again was a good size and has 2 single beds or they can be put together and it had plenty of storage.  Only the main bedroom had a mirror, I felt both the other bedrooms could do with a mirror and please put it near to a plug, I find this alot in properties, there is never a plug near a mirror for us ladies to dry and straighten hair.  The hall way had a good mirror but again no plug nearby!  We really enjoyed our chilled break, hot tub was a hit with the adults and our teenager.  We are with 02 but had no phone signal whatsoever and the WiFi was awful as other reviews have mentioned.  We tend to use Google alot when away to search for takeaways, pubs,  restaurants or places to visit but we couldn't do that and my teenager complained constantly as he couldn't message his friends or log onto Netflix and for this reason we probably wouldn't return unless the WiFi improved dramatically which is a shame as otherwise the lodge and surroundings were lovely.  I must thank Helen who I phoned on arrival day to say we were running late due to traffic, I explained that Morrisons were arriving with shopping and she was kind enough to accept delivery for us which was lovely of her and a massive help, thanks again Helen.

Lovely lodge and park

We are currently staying in ‘Birch’ lodge as a family of four and our precious pooch for four nights, Mon to Fri. 
We have two teens who are revising for exams so need some peace and quiet whilst hubby and I go for walks with our dog. 
It is a beautiful wooden lodge under the cover of the trees and surrounded by nature. 
The cabin is far larger than we expected with three double bedrooms, one is a twin but can be made up as a double. The bathroom is huge with a great shower which is floor level so perfect for me who has health issues. The floor is non slip and spotlessly clean. 
The kitchen is packed with everything you could possibly need and again was spotlessly clean. We cooked in all nights but one where we had chips from a local take away. There are a good selection of take aways about a five minute drive away (leaflets left in the lodge with info folder). There is also a Tesco for anything you may have forgotten. 
The main living area has a lovely table and chairs and the comfiest sofa we’ve ever sat on! Heating is great as it is individual heaters in each room so you can keep bedrooms cooler if preferred. 
The beds were comfy, bedding spotless and good quality and great blackout curtains. 
The hot tub is fab, and looking up at the stars at night amazing! It’s Autumn so leaves and acorns do fall now and again but this has had zero impact on us, in fact it adds to the experience of being in the woods. 
The table under cover outside was a lovely place to sit and read and watch the birds. 
There are two woodland walks which the dog loved! Make sure you have proper walking boots/shoes as it is a real woodland walk. Literally silence other than trees, crunchy leaves and birds cheeping. There is a bench at one point which you can sit and admire the small pond. 
The lady in reception is just so nice and friendly and happy to offer any help you could possibly need. 

So, if you’re actually looking for a REAL get away from it all in a REAL woodland setting then come here! Ok, the WiFi is pretty slow as is the phone service, however, the car park at the top just near to our cabin, had enough to make calls and we all managed to use the WiFi when needed. Why not read a book and leave your phone alone?! 
The cabin we were in was great if you want to be close to the car park, but when we come again we’d choose a cabin a little further away for privacy, not that people were waking past constantly (the park was full). 

They have nearly finished building the most amazing looking treehouses which we cannot wait to stay in! Will definitely be back as soon as possible! Thank you for our wonderful little holiday!

A Beautiful Getaway in Stunning Surroundings

We have just got home from staying in the Sycamore Cottage for 3 nights. We stayed as a party of five, and the lodge can sleep up to six so we had more than enough room. 

Unfortunately for us, the weather forecast showed wind and rain during part of our stay so we opted to hire a gazebo for £30 which was placed over the hot tub so we could still enjoy it despite the rain. 

All 3 bedrooms were of good size, two of which had en-suites. 

It was a little cold in the evenings but the radiators worked well and heated up the cottage very quickly.

The Park is located close to Ellesmere Town. We went to Tesco on our first evening to do a food shop which worked well for our length of stay. The kitchen had crockery, glasswear, cutlery and cooking utensils etc so we were able to cook each night although take away addresses/numbers were provided in the cottage handbook if guests preferred to do so.

Opportunities:

-WIFI. This was painfully slow and at sometimes had the feeling of becoming disconnected from society completely as it was virtually impossible to load any webpages. My EE 4G would not connect either. I understand to some this may be a 'First World Problem' however we relied on Google Maps to help us plan our days out and this wasn't always possible with the weak connection. I understand other guests have mentioned this too. 

-Perhaps an outside surface near the Hot Tub to place drinks.

Overall, we would recommend Woodland Park Lodges however would hope to stay in another Cottage with a stronger WIFI connection.
